Look at the forecast where I live,.it's crazy just last week we had snow. This is west Texas.
I just love those pictures and it's great to see how the other side of the world lives... But .........
Well... here's my take on it. Snow looks lovely but mostly on Christmas cards!!! I felt snow once, right down my neck, and it was Cold. DHDon, in a fit of boyish nonsense, scooped some old snow from a gutter and treated me to a surprise gift. From that time on I didn't hanker for some snow experience in any serious way at all. It's really pretty but......I don't really think I could live in that kind of place. Of course, I could quite easily eat a feast of BBQ'd delights in that climate.
You're in deep, deep snow while Adelaide, and most of South Australia, sweltered in a very long heatwave, when along came the rain on Thursday and flooded that middle part of the state. Some houses were swamped with two feet of water inside them, school yards had lakes in them much to the children's delight, the water came up through the floor boards and then.... outside, the water just sank into the dry, dry ground!!! The houses have flood damage and 'stinky smells' while outside the water just disappeared. And all the while, there are fires burning but this rain has helped the firefighters to contain and control the fires at least for a time.
Where I live which is one of the coldest and wettest areas of the state, no rain fell at all but the temperature did cool down to pleasant.
Like greysewist says, Aussies can be pretty crazy but with weather like this who can blame us.... :}
Oh... afterthought!!! .... I could also quite easily sit on one of those wonderful verandah chairs, snuggled in a very thick quilt and gaze out at that beautiful scenery.
AlmaG.
oohhhh YOU KEEPT IT...we had a artic blizzard blow in here..shut us down 3 days..thurs-sat. rain came sunday and warmed it up melted it away...now we are starting to see the streams and rivers rise..mot good,,,its still raining...but I will take rain over snow any day..
Thank you very much for sharing your 'cold' winter with us. It is boiling hot here in Durban, South Africa. I just love heat. Your Honey is doing a fabulous job. Give him an extra hug for being so caring and nice.
I am so glad that you are happy DeVon you deserve to be, your wedded bliss looks wonderful on you! PS We love BBQ in the winter time too,Hugs Loralye
Amazing photos and such a contrast in life isn't it, in Australia hot and fire season...all looks fabulous really, gotta love nature at it's best.....or is it?
Lovely pics -what a good man you found there. This is way beyond the saying 'Mad dogs and Englishmen out in the midday sun'! We can be pretty crazy here in Australia, but it's not very likely you'd find anyone outside here cooking in that weather :)
Thank you for sharing these lovely pictures!
Hugs, Lidia
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! better you than me girlfriend, lovely to look at but I wouldn't want to have to live with it.
Aren't some hubbies just the greatest things since sliced bread!!!!
DeVon, it is really difficult for me to take this in. It is 8.30. am and I am sitting with one fan to my left and another fan on my desk blowing cool air on my face. It is so hot here with 98% humidity. Your garden looks like fairyland. Well done DH with the braai (BBQ in SA) - looks delicious. Put the lid down before it gets cold. LOL.
What beauty all around you! You have a wonderful grillin' husband!
Oh my you got a little bit of snow ???I am so happy for you .If you want snow why didn't you tell me Devon i got tons of it and its free:):):)See):)I can't see no guardrail at all anywhere .!!Now that's snow lol i am feeling funny to -night hugs and kisses all:):)
We are getting the same weather here in North Georgia. Pretty yesterday and today, but now I'm over it and ready for it to move on.
Thanks for the pictures. Made me feel cool for the first time today. So hot and sticky here first thing I did was turn air con on. Would love some snow but guessing you are well and truley over it by now. Hope it warms up for you soon.
Everybody remember that first year of marital bliss?
We don't get the snow - just the cold
This weather is something else isn't it?
Burgers with snow now that is original....
Very nice photos! It's nice to see you and hubby and yummy grilled chicken!!! Beautiful snowy home!!!
