Goodness! What a mess of weather! Ice in the south, Great Britian about to wash away (I was impressed to see the 2 princes helping sling those sand bags!), earthquake in S Carolina, sunbathing at the winter Oly., part of our Eastern coast getting ready for more bad weather (as well as the states that are usually used to it)...wonder what's next? All you cuties stay safe!

The world has had interesting weather for a couple of winters now. All I can do is hang on and roll with the weather. As annoying and dangerous as the snow can be, I am hoping it will help to refill the reservoirs and aquafiers of the world.

That's funny you should say that! When my dear old mother in law was still with us, she was moaning about the lousy weather, and she said "It's all that ironmongery they keep sending up"', and I do believe there was some truth in what she said! We never had weather like this during WW2, we. Had normal winters , plenty of snow, and glorious summers, but because man has to get clever we are suffering good and proper ! What do they achieve by sending people into space? They should send our present government into space, and leave them there!!

Strange isn't it. Where I live they are talking about a 40% cut back in water consumption. How does one do that? No flushing the toilet or taking a shower? Maybe both. Better not have visitors. Yikes!!!!

We have water restrictions all the time here in Australia, you soon learn the ways you can cut down, especially in the kitchen and laundry, it's not that difficult. More incentive here is that we have to PAY for water used so cutting down saves you money to spend on other things.
Cutting your shower time alone, down to the normal 3 minutes, saves 1000's of litres of water every month.

There has been a prediction for a WORLD WIDE water shortage in the not too distant future and we all know that NOTHING on our earth can survive without water, so if you want more help to cut down just visit the link below or Google "Sydney Water NSW Water Wise tips". http://www.sydneywater.com.au/sw/...

I am very passionate about water conservation. Hugs n love, Meg

Meg you are right. Water is a precious commodity. in 1975 we had a drought and since then I already do all the conservation which makes it difficult now. It is like getting punished for being good. We also pay for our water.

I didn't know anyone didn't have to pay for their water!! Thankfully we have a septic tank so don't have to pay for sewer too!! Have a well, but water's now not safe to drink, but can water the yard & wash the cars with it.

I have a well, and live on the edge of a stream, so other than the electric to pump it, at least I'm safe there. And when the electric goes out, I'll have an old fashioned pitcher pump, like the Amish in our neighborhood. I still conserve water, but on the shores of Lake Erie, we won't run out any time soon. We'll just be under 20 feet of snow!

It has been crazy for over half the states. Me I am good, the snow has stayed in the mountains. The Olympics have been terribly affected. Over a dozen skier's lost their opportunity for gold because of poor conditions on the slopes.

It's been warmer in Russia than it has been in Erie, PA. That's just wierd! It's also been warmer in Alaska than here.

it's a really odd end of winter. However, I am encouraged. (Noah take note). I saw my first returning (to north) goose today on the pond. So, either he's a slow learner, or the cold is almost over here.
