Hand Painted Pansy Quilt...thought I would share another one of my original quilt designs...I drew and hand painted each of the mini one inch yellow and purple triangles and pansy motifs...then quilted around each triangle and free motion quilted around each leaf, petal and stem in each of the pansy motifs. The large center block is 40 inch square of white on white cotton fabric. Many a quilter has asked me how I had the patience to piece those one inch triangles..had to explain they were not pieced, but hand painted...

Thank you for your kind words...I used fabric dye and fabric medium for this...the colors stay true and don't fade...they also remain very soft...

oh wow is all I can say!! Thanks so much for sharing these pictures. Love the look if all the hand painted touches.... can't even imagine painting the triangles. It's stunning and you should be very pleased with it. If not I'm sure we can find a "foster home" for it!! ;)

I sure did...it was done on my 28 year old Janome 8000...with a walking foot for the straight line stitching and a free motion quilting foot for the rest...
