Martine - these are turning out so beautifully. May I ask a rather dumb question - what type of stitch did you use for the stems and outlines? Perhaps my old eyes are just not seeing it truly, but it looks more substantial than a regular running stitch. Thanks so much. Really nice job!
The outlines are running stitch done twice, the stems are running stitch followed by a triple stitch. The leaves are done with a fill stitch and get their shape through the darker lines. The leaves were too small to digitise all parts separately and changing the stitch directions of each part, but I'm quite pleased how it looked the way I did it.
Thanks for the info - I thought the stems looked "beefier". I like the way you did the leaves. The whole design is lovely.
This set is exquisite, Martine......the use of the 2 color green is so dramatic........great digi and stitching!
Thank you. The two greens don't differ that much, the third shade for the outlines and stems reflects on them and combined with the different stitch angles and looks far more exciting than I imagined beforehand. I'm having so much fun with these! I made two variations with this one and a combination of one and two. Only used clipart 1 and 2 and have 8 extra designs already. What's most time consuming about combining more than 1 is changing the stitching order :).
Very excellent beautiful love threads colors allso very nice workHappy weekend for you hugs stella
Thank you. You can choose your own colours for the flowers, but as I started the first one with this combo I'll do them all the same so it will be easier should I decide to make a quilt with them.
I think, this will be a beautiful set, the first I love as the second
