Well done!
I had not thought of using pre-made place-mats and undoing the seams. That is a wonderful idea! Thank you
Thank you. I could have stitched through both layers, but decided against it. And am pleased with the clean back.
Very pretty. Nice way to brighten up ones day. Good was to wish spring was here and the white stuff would go away. Happy Stitching
Beautiful job Martine. My daughter Amy loves tulips and got a bunch from her fiance on Wednesday as a thankyou for having had Steve's father with them on and off for the past nearly 4 months! (and with a new baby to boot!!!!) Love Chris
Thank you, Chris. Winter has been so mild that tulips are cheap and plentiful. They are now buy two bunches, get one free, so it's easy to make a good display and bring spring indoors. Normally the daffodils come first, but I have not seen those yet - at least not in our neck of the woods.
Oh, Martine, these are so elegant looking......great job!!
This is beautiful. And, yes, the new HusqvarnaViking site has a lot less than the old (it also used to have more free projects and patterns - now they're much harder to find).
They look lovely and so real. I could grow these...no green thumb required. Thank you for sharing.
Very nice placemats, spring is coming but when? Snow and Canadian air coming south. lol!
Here we skipped winter altogether. Crocuses, snowdrops and daffodil colour gardens. Last year spring came very late, it seems to make up for it this year!
LOvely - but a bit like taking coals to Newcastle (as the saying goes!)
Thanks. Nowadays that seems less silly than before the mines were closed. The Dutch variation of that saying is either carrying water to the sea or taking owls to Athens. But taking tulips to Amsterdam would be a nice one too.
Very pretty. I love the yellow shades and the greens that you chose. They really look like shading here. You are my hero for taking these apart entirely.
Thanks Jerrilyn. Actually the tulip is done in one colour in, the the other shades are stitched on top, same stitch direction but lower density, so it is shading, not stitching different parts. And I will certainly use this method myself.
As for taking it apart - the stitches were very large so that was easy and I only top stitched it twice in a rather large stitch but considerably shorter than the original. So in the end it took less time than I anticipated.
Martine these are lovely. I saw yesterdays posting and your comments and went to look on the Husqvarna site to see if the design was still there. Enjoy using your beautiful table mats AND on completing a project on your bucket list
Thank you. I went to the site too, to see if I could post a link to the tulip. They used to have a number of free samples that stayed on for years, this one among them, but now they only have a monthly one as far as I can see.
Love the colours you have chosen, they are lovely.
Hugs, Lidia
Thanks. And that's one thing off my bucket list. Bought a couple of red ones too, I'll have a go at them later - might make a nice Christmas present for someone. Hugs, martine
