I am making a Easter dress for a god child, do you think a 2.5 in" crochet collar is ok for 3T size dress or is it to old looking?

I love the look of crochet collars. I made a dress for my granddaughter when she was 4 or 5. My daughter had her picture taken professionally, she was posed in front of an old trunk standing on end with the lid open. It is one of my favorite pictures, I still have it displayed and she is now 14. I tried to send a picture but I couldn't figure out how to send it. I say go for the crocheted collar!

How about a small sized crochet covered pocket, decorated pockets are so "in".
