here's murphy's law for you , decided that I would do all my weekend chores today , so that I could spend the whole day tomorrow sewing ,cleaned the pool , tidy the garden , cut the grass , on my final turn with the lawn mower I tripped over backwards , landing on my hand , heard a loud crack and the pain and nausea that followed was unreal , Dr says I've fractured two bones , but can only have x ray on Monday (Saturday today) might need pins putting in or cast putting on or my hope that I can keep this brace on for awhile , got no idea what to do with myself , bored already and it's only been 2 hours..lol

I am so sorry to read your story - that is just plain bad luck. Try and think as I do at times like these - it could have been much worse. Maybe you can catch up on some reading now.

What a terrible thing to happen. I have a feeling that you live here in South Africa. Why on earth can they not do x rays before Monday?
I hope that you have not done too much damage. Big hugs Sarah

Sorry - have just seen you are in Richards Bay. I once had an x ray here in Knysna on a Sunday!!!

I am not sure why you need to wait until Mon. for an x-ray. I understand that Dr,s offices are closed but not the emergency places like hospitals,. Where do you live? My two granddaughters have in the last year both had a broken wrist and one had a broken ankle. My daughter says she knows the pediatric orthopedic surgeon by first name. I am so sorry you had such bad luck. Kay

I live in Richards bay south Africa , it's the hospital x ray department that I have to wait for opening on Monday , funny that last year when some one kicked my cat and injured it badly the vet did a x ray in his rooms , that was a sunday , I've been living here for 3 yrs but don't have a doctor , never get sick , but do know both vets very well , maybe should have gone to one of them ..lol

Please get yourself a doctor. You never know when something really serious might happen. Sarah

What bad luck. You never realise how much you do with your hands until one is out of action. Our lawn mower has hardly been used in the past year ,living on sand without much rain means no grass only weeds.

Hi Lesley, was it the Ulna and the Radius you've broken? Thankfully it's only one hand and not your favoured hand that has broken. Good luck with the cast/pins/x-rays etc. on Monday. I hope you can find something to keep your mind active and not bored. Love Chris

Time for the Children's Hymn, as we call it at my house. "It's not fair." I'm so sorry. I spent the day on the garden, too.

I do hope they gave you pain pills if u need to wait .Here in Canada we would never be made to wait .They would call someone in to use the machine if needed :):)

You could start thinking ahead to your Christmas embroidery, find your designs for each one, plan the colors( material and thread).
THEN GO SHOPPING!. I'm sure that with all those plans made there are some things you will need. Take care and rest your hand on a pillow. The pillow helped the pain for me. Hugs

So sorry you are hurt. That stinks and you were on such a roll!
I won't wish for a broken hand, but there are times I do wish I could be bored for just a few minutes.

As they say, "The best laid plans of mice and men/women ..." I think I would take the "read a book" or "put in a movie" suggestions. You have my sympathies and prayers for a full recovery.

So so sorry!! After a good couple of days of rest - you could reorganize your embroidery designs on your computer. I rarely have the time to do that! Take care and think about what you can do!! Hope things turn out for the better! Hugs, Laura*

Not sure what to suggest till Monday apart from read or spend your time here commenting on everything. It could have been a lot worse, though it may not seem that at the moment. Which hand have you hurt?

Ouch! Put in a good movie...you do not want to cause more damage by using the hand.
Good luck with the boredom -- I hope Monday brings good news!
