Upcycling. This cardboard drum came with sweeties inside at Christmas. It is about 20cm in diameter and 25cm deep. I think the celtic knot design I used on the top came from Kreative Kiwi.

Love the celtic Knot design! This is a great ''upcycled" project. I have so many containers that I think there must be a way to re-use/re-purpose. I just might have to try your idea of covering some with fabric, and of course, embroidery. I also have some shank buttons with celtic designsleftover from when I made costumes. They would make lovely pull nobs for the lids.

O.K. fess up, how did you do this? Did you have to unpick the whole lid to place in the hoop? Love Chris

The only bit that went in the hoop was the fabric for the top (before I fixed it to the card!)

amazing what you did, love the colours. How did you finish it off inside the box Sue?

The fabric is continous from the bottom of the outside to the bottom of the inside. There is a circle of card covered in the fabric pushed down to hold it all in place and another on the outside to form the base. The lid is exactly the same, but with some wadding in the top.
