thank you for posting this great mug rug.. just about missed it..
It looks swell,Sarah.I think I went there but I was suppose to sign up and didn't have time, then.I guess I missed out.
Thanks cuties,I have it now, both circle and square.I inserted my frames around, so I could make a satin edge coaster, but your binding looks great,Sarah.
Thank you for showing this. I just went there and downloaded. I've been mostly looking at quilting classes and had totally forgotten the embroidery portion. Great job.
Very nice colors I like that a lot! I've not sewn mine yet, I was looking for doll dresses I think when I found that and it caught my eye, and dashed right over to tell my cute friends. lol!
Thank you so much for posting this - it was such fun watching it stitch out.
I love subway art, it's different. You are so welcome, I appreciate everyones' efforts in keeping us well supplied in designs, I do what I can too to try to feed our stash. lol!
Looks great, I finally found myself on craftsy to get it. There are no directions on finishing? All the words sew out, then there are 2 circle (or square) lines on the outside. Are we to then do our own binding?
Jo
I found some very simple directions on the next page. Yes, you do your own binding. If I make another, I will only sew the very outside line just to hold the layers together as I think it cuts too much into the lovely wording off
You girls should have a circle design on your machines, with your frames. My little cheap emb machine does, just insert it around to fit.
I agree airyfairy I only stitched the outside circle on mine. Thanks for the tip. I think on my next one though I will skip the Final circles altogether and just add the binding.
can anyone tell me what is used for padding in the middle, and how to attach the bias tape so neatly..thanks Karen
I like to use the same batting in them that I use in potholders. I plan on using a French bias just like I do on a quilt. I stitch it on with a walking foot then hand stitch it to the back side.
I found the link. http://www.craftsy.com/patterns/e...;sortBy=magic

This really is a cute mug rug. Thanks for posting it.
Lovely mug rug. When I make mine I place a layer of clear vinyl on top. Stops all the drips and simple to wipe with a damp cloth. Even though yours is finished you could sew the vinyl on using the stitches on your binding as a guideline and just extend the vinyl to the edge of the mug rug. Just an idea as you certainly don't want your lovely work stained. Lynx
Turned out terrific, Sarah......nice color, too, so it won't show any drippage for awhile.......
It looks great. Can I ask you what format you used? I tried to download the PES format but when I opened it said "no sewing data" available. I wrote to Craftsy and they sent me an email saying the problem was corrected but after downloading a 2nd time I still get the same results. I do not have this problem with other designs just this one. Any one have any suggestion? I really like this design and wanted to stitch it out. HELP please.... hugs, Susan
How did you search Craftsy to find it? They sure have a lot of fantastic mug rugs on that site.
I went to Craftsy clicked on embroidery on the left side of the page then scrolled down to find it.
rsehorse, mine came in a zipped file with all formats. I looked and can't come up with the original post.
Yes, I got the zipped file too. With the help of a special friend I now have the designs. We still don't understand what the problem was but we did resolve it. Thanks, Susan
This is a lovely coaster/rug mug! I wonder if you could use it in your sewing room just the way it is...I really like it!
I pickup this design as well - it is lovely - you did a wonderful job with it!!! Hugs to you, Laura*
