Love this pattern - Really like your red and green with the white squares. I have seen a really big version of this lately on line but can't remember where. Still looked good tho - it was a foot warmer on a bed.
I took a class in it years ago and was told not to use red and white alternating for the side stripes as it would look like a candy cane and detract from the center block. Never tried it then but it might be perfect if you had a candy cane theme embroidered in the center.
Very pretty! As to finding it as Christmas time...hope the little fairies and elves that live with me don't see this. They love to 'runaway' with items they tend to like. That's whats happened to some of my things...that's my story and I'm sticking too it. lol
Great job! I am a quilt want to be.I love your choice of colors and patterns.Did you have instructions or just wing it? I would love to make one. Kay
I Googled "french braid quilt patterns" and found a few to give me some ideas.
This is probably my favourite of all times pattern and you've made a lovely runner with it. Well Done!!!! First attempt??? Wish my first attempts turned out so beautifully.
AlmaG.
Oh now this looks lovely, well done. How did you manage to get the little squares in it? I think I'd have trouble enough with just the strips along each side....ggg
I'm sold, anything with Christmas fabrics has my vote! Love Chris
Well done! I do love the colors and hope you find it next Christmas as it will be a lovely addition to any table.
It's very pretty,Sue.I saw a demo of that flip and stitch method but never saw the little square in the points.I am tempted to do a quilt as you go. I'll have to show my sister and see if she will let me post her first quilt she made, when it is quilted.I am so proud of her! This should match hers, since she used quite a lot of different christmas prints!-Toogie
It looks great, Sue. I used to teach a class on making this table runner. They are fun to make aren't they. Hugs, Susan
Your table runner turned out lovely!!! Great choice of fabrics.

Well. we just assumed! It is beautiful, Love the color effect from above! How much time did it take, start to finish?
Lovely! and of course one could add embroidery to the center block!

I didn't make this one like that - but the next one will be! I quilted this one after I put it together.
