When it's it time to say good-bye or it's it I will keep you forever. I have now lived in this house for over 5 years, and today I brought out some of my favorite things, which have been boxed away. I purchased this cabinet used , it's the same design as the kitchen , which I have come to the conclusion I will have to keep and due a refresh, I am o.k. with that . I had a large collection of tea pots, this is only a fraction , the rest are still in boxes in a cupboard. I have no where to put them. But one day I will, So the questions is , if you love it should you have to get rid of it, or keep it for one day it will see the light of day.

I think you should keep them. If it's the teapots in life that make you happy, you have earned that happiness. I just tell my children to plan a weeklong yard sale. Now all the Cuties know, that when life hands us lemons, you have the teapots and we will bring the tea :) Hugs

I would start giving them out for gifts like b/day etc, and tell them i treasure this gift and i hope you will to .
Then when you are in a place to get more or start again you will be surprised at what comes your way.
Our boys say Mom you got to much junk!!! yes junk they say*** and if anything happens to you and Dad we won't want most of it :(:(So now i am giving gifts to friends and saying as above .Carolyn

I would keep them. If there is room above kitchen cabinets put them up there. That's where I have my small collection Very nice

Fifteen years ago, when we moved into our present house, I had a collection of teapots. They got put in the attic while awaiting some shelves to put them on. We are now moving on into a new house built in the style of an old barn and they would have fitted in perfectly, but now I cannot find them. :( The attic has been emptied and they were not there!! All I can think is that I have given them to a charity shop in a clearing out session. So keep them. They may fit perfectly somewhere, some day.

I would keep them, especially as they are in a lovely cabinet. I have a very old dresser twice the size of yours, also in my kitchen. All my teapots are displayed on the shelves. Unfortunately there are no doors, so once a month I have to rinse them. You have a beautiful collection. Enjoy them. Sarah

Oh My Goodness... when it comes to teapots???? Keep Them!!!!!!
That's another of my collection addictions and I also have a beautiful collection of small Chinese teapots in their boxes, satin lined, waiting to see the light of day again. Will it ever happen??? I don't know but what I do know is that they are mine and will remain so until......
However, nothing in my collection comes anywhere near yours in beauty or interest. I think I might be feeling a touch of envy here.

My first teapot, was a wedding gift, someone gave me wine glasses and I returned them, saw an outstanding teapot, Miss Piggy (boxed away) I even have 4 mugs to go with her. On my last move (we sized down) I gave away about 12 dozen teapots or more, just kept my most favorite. When I was looking to get these out, I just wanted to open them all and have a little lookie. But will have to wait for another day of opening. I think I may have envy you have all yours out.

I would cherish them and display them. I'm packing to move long-distance and my sister has helped me. She tried to throw away some of my treasures and I tried not to break down crying. Memories are wrapped up in so many of my items; it's hard to let go. So, I'm standing firm. Kinda for now. Lol any volunteers to help me move. Only kidding

Your teapots are wonderful. Keep them. I have a large doll collection in a class case. Keeps all the dust off them. Also have teapots but they are put away at the moment as I have family living with us. I miss seeing them. Our collections also bring us lots of memories. Lyn

Rotate them by bringing certain ones out at holidays, put them in other places of the house as little groupings, and build a high shelf to display more. Your lifetime of treasures need to be enjoyed anyway you can. Just let everyone know you don't need any more or they might just start adding to your collection.

I don't want to start trouble, but... my neighbor collected elephants because of her sorority she was in. Eventually, she had little bookshelves on brackets 1 foot below ceiling around all her rooms to display her 300+ elephants! It's all in what you want. Maybe you can sort through them now, maybe later. Or maybe let your children or grandkids select one to keep for Christmas each year!

They say one mans junk is another mans treasure. You have some lovely treasures . I have some things that I have collected as well . With regards to my crystal and china my sis in law told me to use it and have the pleasure of breaking it yourself ,so i use it and guess what no breakages so far .LOL

Nothing wrong with keeping it forever. I believe someday it will be an heirloom and your grandkids will want them or they will sell in your estate sale and they will be millionaires. lol! Seriously though, some of the things in my hutch my mom had bought for me, some were from flea market finds or a gift from a friend. Mine is so crowded, you can't see half of it. If it is valuable now might be best to keep it as it will appreciate even more in time.

You have a beautiful collection. Why not knock out the panel on the lower doors (same as the upper) and install glass and then you can bring out some more!

Whatever pleases you, after all they are your possessions. If you want to enjoy them out of package or knowing they are safely tucked away it is up to you. I will keep my things as long as I want and I enjoy them.
Love your collection

Keep them for as long as they bring you pleasure....I look at like fabric or embroidery designs...I may not see them for awhile, but it brings me great joy to know they are there...for another day...

The teapots are so neat, do you ever or can you use any of them or are they display only. I've not seen any like these, very nice. Love the cabinet, too. People and items one loves are often gone too quickly...so keep them close as long as you can.

If it is something You enjoy and it is Your home, keep it as long as it gives you joy. I have a basement full of things that give me joy and they will stay there as long as I enjoy. We were very lucky with my mom and MIL, they both knew when it was time to unload. My GD brought a old camera up from the basement and said she was going to take it now. I told her to fill up her car, but she didn't! LOL Not only that, when we lose our minds, we won't care.LOL
