Hi,
Congratulations on the best buy you ever made! I simply love my Embird.
I have Embird (the full suite, but only 3 alphabets: nos 17, 28 and 38) and 3 of Carolyn Keber's tutorials (Studio Tutorial & DVD; Embird Tutorial & DVD and Cross Stitch DVD).
If you can save for it, do yourself a favor, and save for it. I found they taught me more than Embird's own tutorials. The videos on Clipartopolis helped me as well.
I had no previous experience with digitizing before I bought Embird, but within a short period I could manually digitize designs to sell (This included LineArt, and Filled Designs). This is totally due to the fact that Embird is very user friendly, and secondly definitely to Carolyn's Studio Tutorial & DVD.
I sincerely believe that without Carolyn's tutorials it would have taken me much longer to learn Embird Studio.
If I have to recommend her tutorial I used the most, it is Studio Tutorial & DVD.
I know they are expensive, but they cover most of the basic essentials in enough detail for you to learn how to use Embird in a relatively short time.
For FSL Lace and Crocheting, unfortunately the only tutorials I found are on the link below. She also have an Embird Basic DVD for $15, but I do not know how good is.
Her DVD's are between $15 and $25 each.
They are much cheaper, but still too expensive for me to afford. Her lace and crocheting tutorials have been on my wish list since I bought Embird.

Just telling you about my experience with learning Embird.
Hope it helps.

The Embird site has several good ones. And so has Clipartopolis.
The Flying Needle has monthly lessons, not free, but reasonably priced. And there are free mini lessons as well.
The Clipartopolis videos do not work on some computers. I use windows 7, with a high speed internet connection, and I can not watch their videos online.
I belong to the Yahoo group Embird4beginners. Bonnie Wilkinson is the group owner and she also has a website with both free and $$. She is a great teacher.
Thank you very much for the link. I may check out the yahoo groups. I didnt even think of that:)
thank you for the link - I just ordered the lesson on making snowflake names! I hate to tell you how long I have had Embird and use it mainly for color changes and the Iconoizer function!
