Amazing. Here in my part of the world we have a store about one hour away, I will leave a link. It is lovely viewing all these amazing clocks plus extras. This store is located near Toowoomba. Thanks for sharing, think I may take another visit there it has been some time since visiting...and the Grand children will love it to....
Oh the are beautiful. I have a mini-sized, however I lost the key!
I have one that i've had for years, but ever since my niece and nephew had some fun pulling the chains I've never been able to get it fixed properly (had it in twice). I love it and can't part with it - it has little dancers that come out on a special balcony and dance on the hour when the cuckoo comes out. I paid about $100 for it about 35 years ago.
These are beautiful, wait until I tell my brother-in-law the prices. He has just one, his daughter brought back from overseas, her husband was in the Air Force. This is the one we bought in Germany 45 years ago.It is no longer working, but husband knows what is wrong, just need to find a clockworker for the part.I also have the piece that is off at the bottom. It was just glued on.Guess the price we paid back then?-Toogie
Forgot to say,it is a 30 day wind up clock, made in 1890 I believe. It chimes once on the half hour, and then at the hour, it chimes whatever the hour may be.If you haven't guessed,we paid 17 american dollars !
My mom used to have one like this. a little smaller, but I think my son has it now and she didn't pay a lot for it, but more than you did - about 49 years ago.
I remember this guy we bought it from, also collected guns and his shop was upstairs, over a liquor store or bar.He had clocks hanging, almost touching like in these photos, and some grandfather clocks too.Our friends bought one of the g-f clocks and it is still running today.
