Very pretty new pair Shirley, I too have a Gingher pair & I have had them for over 30 years had them sharpened once & they are still as good as new. A very dependable brand! ~hugs~
Lovely scissors! I use gingher, too, and I've had some for over 20 years and not had to sharpen them. These are my favourite brand and I can always depend on a sharp cut. You'll love them. TIP - put a dab of nail polish on a spot to identify them; especially if you are taking a class in and there are scissors everywhere!!
Shirley, I love your new pair of scissors! Hugs, Yoriko
I LOVE my ginghers and as others have said they stay very sharp! In one of my own unstable moments, I dropped my full sized pair while at the ironing board and the scissors cut right through my leather shoes. I ended up needing 4 stitches. My family and doctor still give me a bad time about that incident. I was almost grateful my foot broke their fall. If I had broken the tip off of those scissors, I would have been very upset. Aren't we sometimes silly how attached we are to our favorite pair of scissors. If you were serious about thinking the pair could end up in someone else's sewing basket, you could have them engraved.I am sure they will give you years of wonderful service and what a beautiful pair they are!
Not really serious about them ending up in some elses basket, but I just might do that.I have my name on the Mundail ones.
Good choice, Good brand. I have a pair now for 20 years and they are still as sharp as when I first bought them. It was the pair I kept hidden from the family.
You need to be careful with that plan. If you can't remember what you had for dinner last night, you could very well forget where you hid the scissors. Bless!
20 years! Well that should just about see me out. lol I had no choice with buying the brand they were the only ones in the shop. We are very limited here where I live.
I love the Gingher brand of scissors. And I think they are well worth the price. Sorry Dennis, I guess I am hopeless too. Gee, I need to replace the pair I can't find. Maybe I will spend the money and get a good pair instead of the cheap ones. Now I need to get my handsome hubby to drive me to the store since I still can't drive thanks to the vertigo.
I am sure that your hubby is handsome and that you regularly tell him so......... even when you don't want something (be honest now). Now, I would never suggest that you were 'hopeless' BUT out of concern for your personal welfare, may I suggest that you delay buying the scissors until after you have fully recovered from your vertigo! After all is said and done, your past history (when you were not suffering vertigo) evidences trying to clean up your embroidery files by throwing your thumb drive into the washing machine and then misplacing a pair of scissors for long enough to justify the need to buy another pair! Given all this, do you really think that being dizzy in charge of a pair of sharp scissors is wise?
Hey Dennis. Do you keep track of all our mishaps that we confess too? I can't even remember what I had for dinner last night, Ha, ha
Go for it. Get your Hubby to drive you to the store and buy a good pair of scissors. There nust be days when you will be able to use them. Dennis is only teasing lol Shirley
I have heard over the years how very good this brand is...too expensive for me now a days tho...but they are sooooooo beautiful looking...Way 2 Go.
Yes a bit on the pricey side. But when it is all you can get other than el cheapo ones.....What a a girl suppose to do.
They look like they will bw good scissors, and with there being only 1 other pair you'll be able to find yours at a class or sewing gathering..
They sound like the Rolls Royce of the scissor world!
Sure are Sue. But when it is all that is available you just have to have them
These are definately the top of the line I love this brand.
Thanks. I hope I will love them to. Nice to look at even if they don't get used. Shhhh... Don't tell Dennis this though
I have my mom's Gingher scissors and they still cut great. Think she got them in 60's. I have several pairs. Only buy with 50% off at Joann Fabrics. You won''t be sorry.
SQ
Thanks. We have no stores like Joann Fabrics here in Australia. I got these from one of our quilt stores.
lol! Heehee!!! They are very pretty scissors, looks like they have really fine blades. I had purchased some clearance scissors that were pretty at walmart, they were a decent brand but the blades were chunky so I don't like them for cutting fabric, or paper for that matter, but they'll do when I can't find my other 30 pair. hahaha!!! ( No I don't own that many, maybe 5 or 6 pair though.)
The blades are quite fine but not like the Mundial ones I have. Just hope these do as good a job.
So pretty, I'm jealous. I have Mundial and Gingher and love them both. I don't have any of the pretty ones like these. You have bright pretty scissors. :)
Wey hey have fun with these they look great
Oh, I can hardly wait to see what Dennis has to say about this!!!
You ladies are far too easily led and I am very disappointed with all of you for encouraging each other.
Lovely scissors and I really like the Gingher brand.
Thanks. I have not had this brand before, so I hope I am as happy with them as the Mundail.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh they're bea-u-ti-ful!
