Hi Cuties I just wanted to thank all of you that helped me with my thread breaking and fraying problem. All of you were very helpful and I'm kind of embarrassed. I tried the floss it was fine for a bit and then it started again. I went back to the book and went over the threading again. I wasn't doing it right, I needed to use 2 hands and it had to go to the right of a spring in the #2 position I didn't realize I was suppose to going to the right I just brought the thread down at that point. So that means all the other times I used my machine without the problem I just got lucky while threading. Also keeping the presser foot lever up while threading. I checked the throat plate. After that it still did it. I did not think it was the needle, I don't use my machine that much even thou I'd like to. I stitched out one small design with this needle and I used it for my first attempt at a few small fsl designs with mylar. they came out great and I had no problems. I remember someone said something about changing the needle and using a sharp needle when using mylar. I did and that did the trick. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Today is the first day. I really had a chance to work at it. Thank so much for taking the time to help me. ...Jen

Glad you are up and running again with your machine. I used my big machine last week for the first time in an age and it takes time to remember just how things go. Plus when you get a machine you are given so much info that one goes into overload and forgets.

Glad you got it all sorted out. Cuties are great for giving a helping hand to those of us who need it. When I bought my machine, I knew nothing about machine embroidery, then I accidentally stumbled on this site - best accident a person can have - lol

I think it's all part of the 'learning curve'. It's a very long curve and we never get to the end (especially in the sewing department!)

Once I got my machine fixed by a REAL REPAIR MAN who knew what he was doing (after 4 others failed miserably), I find that any problems I have are caused by ME!!!!!! I may need a new needle when it makes loopies, or it gets sticky from using stick on stabilizer, or a needle breaks because the design is WAY TOO DENSE!!!!!!!!! So, welcome to machine embroidery and CUTIES!!!!!!! God bless you,

We will all be delighted to learn that you have resolved the problem.

As Mrs Rescuer has said, we have all made mistakes, although in fairness these have mainly been on the female side of the Cute family. Something to do with multi-tasking I do believe....................lol

You're right, I wish I could spend all day in the sewing room. I might even learn how to sew, now that I got the threading down....lol

Don't be embarrassed -- I think we have all made mistakes -- especially when we first started the wonderful hobby.
So happy for you that it is now sorted!
