Hey you, you don't live on the river bank, what in blazes happened? Did you have that much rain?
Gosh girlfriend, I would've come down and helped out if I had seen this post.
You're not having much luck with water lately!
Do you have an electric fan heater, or an element heater?
Move your machines inside to safety then put any kind of element heater in there, with a fan standing behind it to push the heat through the room, then close the door. It will be like a sauna but it will dry it out quicker.
I do hope there was no fabric losses, lucky your daughter put it all in those plastic containers.
Gee I'm sorry Polly. Yell if you want a hand to do anything.
hugs n love, me
Hi Pauline, sounds like you are over the worst of it. Happy you can stitch. I always feel better when I am stitching. I think it is because I can't think of anything else while I am stitching.
Am cutting and sewing on the dining room table while i wait for my sewing room to continue to dry out. It has flooded once before and survived. So its just a waiting game. Tomorrow is expected to be 28'c and sunny so this will help. Thankyou to all for your concern and offers of help. :)
How is our little soggy Pauline today? Seriously though, I hope that you are managing to get things sorted out but more importantly that you are not stressing yourself out. Take your time and take care.
Oh Dennis thankyou for your concern. Am coping well. Went shopping this arvo to Spotlight (fabric shopping). Grand # 13 bday on 29th and wants a blanket. Ok so we have gone from dinosaurs to cartoon super heros to cowboys. Well we will see what i come up with.
Thinking of you Pauline as I know just how upsetting this can be. Hugs Sarah
I take it you got the worst of the storm last night, hope it won't take to long to dry out for you.. On the news tonight they said Prospect has receive 197mm of rain so far this month..the monthly expected total is 93mm.. maybe we'll have a wet winter this year..
So sorry to read this Pauline, I hope all is well and that you've got those fans blowing. I'd love to help but been out most of the day. Good luck with it all. Love Chris
I wish you all the luck in the world to dry your sewing room out. That's very sad to have it flooded. Run lots of fans! I also read somewhere that if you have a musty smell in your basement, put a peeled onion down there for a few days. I thought that was an interesting tidbit. Don't know if it works, but it sure can't hurt to try it in your sewing room after you get dried out! Good Luck to you!! **FLOWERS to all**
Thankyou and my ceiling fan has been on high since last night, Will try you titbit as it is a bit smelly in my "shed"
Oh, Pauline...............you do get yourself into a pickle at times, don'y you?
If you need any specific advice on drying out any special items, give me a shout and I would be happy to advise. Depending upon the levels of humidity in your sewingroom as a result of the water, I would certainly suggest removing your embroidery machine to a dry area if you can and the same applies to other items that might be affected by humidity. Obviously, they can all go back once you have dried things out.
Well Dennis I do have 2 p's in my name you choose Pauline polly or pauline pickle. Taking all advice on board . Thankyou")
Pleased to hear your scissor are safe. Sorry to hear your sewing room got flodded though. Hope your Machines are safe. Shirley
If I lived close I would be there in a flash to lend a hand Pauline. Take a deep breath and what's done is done but it can be fixed. How did your machine fare that didn't get wet did it? I can only imagine how you must feel, (touch wood) we have never had it come in the house.
Karen thankyou. My machines are safe high and dry. My sewing room is actually the detatched garage. ")
Good for you on the scissors. Be sure to rub a bit of oil on them since they have been exposed to so much humidity. I wish I could help you, I don't envy your chores for the next couple of days, and now you can't sleep on top of it all! Poor Polly. Hugs
Jerrilyn Polly put the kettle on and took a deep breath. All will be good in a few days :)
you could have called me and said HELP, for some reason, I did not sleep all night last night. I must of worried about your material.LOL!
Virtual hugs!
I am glad you had most of it in plastic tubs. It is a very good thing your scissors survived -- you would have to add THAT to your shopping list. :)
I am glad you can joke...I would offer a tissue to dry your tears - but it might need to be used on the floor?
I really am so very sorry you have such a mess! Sending best wishes for a dry sewing room and a good nights sleep -- soon.
So glad you are still able to crack a funny! Lots of positive thoughts being sent your way.
Oh Pauline if I lived closer I would come and help out. Hope its not too bad and will think positive thoughts for you. Just remember to keep the scissors dry and hope your machine is fine too
All of my machines are high dry and happy. Doing the jig with the scissors :)
