Hi,

On the breast cancer site they ask you to sign a petition to ask Victoria's Secret to continue making bras for breast cancer patients. It would be nice if all of you can sign the petition.

I am a breast cancer survivor since 2005, and went through the following:
1. A partial mastectomy of my right breast (they thought they removed the cancerous part, one third of my breast). (2005)
2. A full mastectomy of my right breast (they found after testing the removed part that the whole breast had cancer). (2005)
Both these cases meant a normal bra just did not fit anymore.

I had to walk around with only one breast and ill fitting clothes for two years before the doctor decided the cancer was in remission and that I could have a breast reconstruction. (2007)

BUT: a reconstructed breast is still not the same as a normal breast, and you still need special bras. And if you wear pretty clothes, you feel better. And while you have chemotherapy, you need everything that can make you feel better. (Luckily I'm done with that.)

And after chemotherapy, you want to wear pretty clothes just like all the people with their own breasts. And apparently breast cancer patients need pretty, sexy clothes more than others, as 93% of married breast cancer patients loses their husbands. (Statistics I got from the surgeon's rooms when I asked why all the ladies were so upset about losing their breasts. I was sort of OK, because: 1. I was still alive, the cancer was caught in time; and 2. I'd rather lose a breast than an arm or a leg.)

I signed their petition, what about you?

Regards
Anneliese

Hi, just bringing it back to the top! My son has me doing web design, I have to design a blog for him. So this week I wrote about this with a nice picture of one of the models modelling a push-up bra. His eyes popped! He is 24. Hormones, hormones...
Thanks again to all of you who signed.

Thanks to all who signed (and will still sign) the petition. I am adding one big thank you to all instead of thanking each individually. (Lazy, lazy!)

Cancer is still such a great danger, we seldom realizes how many still die from it. My Dad was one. But then again, I am a survivor.

Please do your mammograms frequently, self examinations will not pick up all cancers. They operated me for what they thought was a cancerous cyst, but in the end all the small dots they saw on the mammogram, which they thought were fine, were cancer! The cyst was benign...

So be sure to check your mammograms for those 100's of little dots.

Hugs
Anneliese

PS: God really looked after me there.

Hi, thanks! One of my regular senior moments - of course the link is needed. Am I going to have more and more senior moments as the years go by?

What will we do without the humor to laugh at ourselves...
