You are right -- Kim's design is great! You are much braver than I am -- I was too scared to try vinyl. It looks good especially for a first round with vinyl. I will be interested to see what tips you can provide later on. I may end up doing more than the 300 I am doing now for the ladies. The men's group may want some too...
Well, the font did just fine - it is a purchased Embird font. I will share whatever I learn. I am afraid that two back layers of the vinyl maybe too thick. I do have some faux suede that is thin - perhaps I will try that as a liner. I also have a corner book mark that I will try when I have conquered this!! Hugs, Laura*
Thank you for sharing Laura I was thinking of trying this with the vinyl too. You will have to let us know if 2 layers are better? ~hugs~
I am not giving up on this - And, I will not let that bottom vinyl slip next time!! Hugs, Laura*
Nice try..not sure as I haven't worked much with vinyl...but could you put two pieces together (wrong sides together) with a bit of temporary adhesive spray to stabilize them from slipping...then the inside would be vinyl too...also, I can make the stitching around the nail files larger so they don't cut the vinyl as it is sewing...that might also help...and Christine has a good ides...permanent marker in the color of the vinyl to help hide the white parts that may show through...
Oh, Kim - your design was perfect - not a problem. It was the designs I picked to go on the front!! I agree with Christine - it deserves marker around the sides. I haven't given up because the vinyl was fine with the font. I plan on post a complete success - hopefully soon!! Thanks for your design!! Laura*
What is that French saying? Say la vie? I think you will find a good combination and will permanent marker help with the white showing?
Thanks, Christine! I am definitely going to try again as Kim's design is perfect!! Laura*
