I don't know of any site that offers the txt-file with their alphabets. It can only be done if they use Embird themselves and be useful only for other Embird users. 6D for instance has a mapping process too, but the file is not a txt-file.
The mapping process is not difficult at all and the tutorial offered on the Embird site is comprehensive and simple to use. Open it next to your opened Editor and you'll get it done easily.
Or you could make a pdf-file from the instructions given below and open that next to your opened Editor.
The first one may take some time, do a few one after the other and you'll be surprised how fast you can do the third alpha.
Hi,
Embird is easy to use, and the mapping is not difficult. See my comment below. I am not sure if it is only the mapping that is a problem, or whether you need to know how to import 3rd party alphabets into Embird. If this comment is not needed, please ignore it.
I have taken out the Embird headings showing my name.
How to use a 3rd party alphabet with a mapping .txt file in Embird.
Go to Embird Editor (or Studio).
Select Insert, Ready-made Alphabet Text. See screen 1.
After the selection, you will see screen 2, with Embird's Example. (unless you have mapped other 3rd party alphabets, in which case you will see the latest one you have used.)
Click on the folder to select your own alphabet. You will see screen 03.
Click on "Add Text File". You will see screen 04 after you have navigated to the folder where your .txt file with your mappings is stored.
Select the .txt file with your mappings. The .txt file must be in the same folder as your font files. The folder must only contain your font files, eg 0-9, A-Z, a-z and the punctuation marks. Each letter or number must be in its own file. My A is stored in the file pinkcrossfont_a.pes. My .txt file is called pinkcrossfont_pes.TXT, so that is the file I selected.
You will see screen 5 with the first 2 letters of your mapping, and the text file you have selected highlighted. Click "OK".
You will see screen 06, but with the pictures of the font you have mapped.
You can now type the words you want. I typed "Done". Click "OK". Your word will be shown in Editor. See screen 07.
You can use the 3rd party alphabets in Studio, same as Editor.
Hope this simplify using 3rd party fonts in Embird for you!
Anneliese
Sorry, only in Embird Editor, not in Studio. You can do your mapping in Editor, select your words in Editor, and then choose to edit them in Studio. I did not make that clear.
When you click on the label icon in the right bottom corner of the screen (picture 2) the text file is made for you, unless they already are in the right order. So you won't have to type them in one by one in Notepad.
Hi,
Mapping a 3rd party alphabet (pre-digitized) in Embird.
To simplify mapping for you, I took a 3rd party font and mapped it into Embird, taking screen shots for every step.
To map your third party alphabet, just put all the pes files (for example A_Z, a-z, 0-9, and the punctuation marks) all in one folder. I used the pinkcrossfont from http://www.cutealphabets.com/ as an example.
Create a .txt file in your text editor, for example Notepad in windows, and map your individual files using the names of the files in your folder. This .txt file must be in the same folder as your pes files for the third party font. Only your pes files and your .txt file must be in this folder.
For example, my capital a (A) is stored in pinkcrossfont_a.pes, and my small letter a (a) is stored in pinkcrossfont_small_a.pes.
Just start on the very first line of your text file, and enter the mapping for each individual number or letter as shown. I show 1,2,A,M,x,z mapped below.
1="pinkcrossfont_1.pes"
2="pinkcrossfont_2.pes"
A="pinkcrossfont_a.pes"
M="pinkcrossfont_m.pes"
x="pinkcrossfont_small_x.pes"
z="pinkcrossfont_small_z.pes"
Save your .txt file, I called mine pinkcrossfont_pes.txt, in the same folder as your individual pes files for your alphabet. I called my folder "pinkcrossfont_pes".
See screen "text file.jpg".
Then import your text file when using Editor or Studio as shown in my next comment.
Hope this helps!

Please map all the letters, numbers and punctuation marks in your font. That way everything will be available by just typing "A" to get "A", or 9 to get 9.
Sorry, Your mapped fonts must be imported and selected in Embird Editor, then you can choose to edit the words in Studio. You can not do the mapping or initial selecting of letters in Studio. In the comment above I said incorrectly your text file can be imported in Studio. You can edit the word in Studio, after it was created in Embird Editor.
You don't have to use Note pad at all, just let Embird do it for you by using the "label"icon in picture 2 of your (other) answer above Much faster!
My pleasure, and thank you Mops for the advise about the label, I figured the steps out as I tried the mapping, and didn't realize what the icon meant. I used to train users as part of my tasks in my previous job, and I guess the trait sticked. I love to help other people, and is nice to know this little tutorial is appreciated. I did not know you can map bought alphabets before I saw this question, so I learned new stuff here.
Did you join the Embird Forums? Ask your question there. Go to http://www.embird.net/ ; choose "Learn" from the top ribbon, and you will see the 3 forums in the drop down menu.
Hope this helps.

You can buy ready made fonts from Embird, but it is cheaper in the long run to buy the Font Engine and do your own text as you need it.
I do have that:) The font engine and Embirds Fonts. I was wondering if any digitizers already included the txt file in their font package:)
That file could be a licence. Have you read it to see? I'm not really sure what you mean.
Sue, mapping is the process that lets you use embroidery alphabets as if they were predigitised fonts. So any alphabeth from this site for instance can be used like the predigitised bought Embird fonts and be automatically arranged in Editor.
