Great job! And thank you so much for sharing the website.
You are certainly our 'bag' lady. Another beautiful bag from you.
See this is an old post. It is still a beautiful bag!!!
Okay so now I can't decide which bag I would like to make...LOL!
But first I promised my girls sweat pants for school. I better get off of the dang computer... hugs
I am glad you like the bags and I look forward to seeing what you make. I try to put the links for the patterns, if they were made with a pattern , with the bag. This was made earlier in the year but I appreciate your looking back._toogie
Is this one of your new hats, Toogie?
It is a little too large, would probally sit on my shoulders......of course some poeople may like that,it would cover my face
We certainly wouldn't like that Toogie. Joking aside, it is a lovely bag for which you should be very proud.
Your b & w purse should go to lunch with Mariahail's b&w purse, a few entries above. Wow to you both.
That's a GREAT looking bag - so classic! Love the fabrics. Kudos to you for recycling things into a new and beautiful purpose. You did a fantastic job! Thank you for the links.
Watch out Vera Bradley-Here comes Toogie!!!
Thanks for the link.
Thank you for the pictures and info on fabrics. I went to the link and I too will make this. Thanks again.
Very resourceful use of fabric!!!! Love the bag pattern.
I liked the curves at the top, something different.I also like the top zip for security.I may try the smaller one sometimes, but got to move on to something different for a while.
Wonderful upcycle! & thank you for the link too. ~hugs~
Great job! Toogie. I really like that bag. You can't beat the deals you can find to reuse & recycle at a Goodwill. I've been doing that all my life.
Some people get rid of brand new stuff,as in this case with the valances. But you know the old saying,'One mans 'trash' is another mans 'treasure'. It is my opinion,we all need to re-purpose and stop wasting so much.Of cousre,on the other hand,I may not find these good buys-lol
Thank you! I think this is just what I've been looking for for some time!
Fantastic purse project..........much better than you can buy premade...
great job!
Great job....love the fabrics!
Thank you,I have this color in one of my bedrooms, but I didn't need it as a curtain.
What a great use to recycle ! The colors are super! Great thinking and beautiful purses! Thanks for the link.
Sometimes I pick up a piece, knowing at the time what I want to make with it, and sometimesnot, I just get it.It may be a good buy and I'll think of something later.Hope you enjoy the link.
Love your bag, you did a great job and thanks for the link.
Thank you and you're very welcome.I think another Cutie posted it a long while back,so am still sharing her link.
Great up-cycling project, and really well done! No one ever needs to know that the floral fabric was rescued from a thrift shop. The bag looks professionally made.
That is so nice of you to say.My sister says that about my sewing. She is always wanting me to put something up online to sell, but I don't.I like to sew because it is something I enjoy. If times get hard, maybe then, but I am blest to be able to enjoy this like I do.
Very very nice! Thrift stores can be a treasure trove sometimes and a dry haul others. Very nice find! Thanks for the link, you are now an official bag lady. lol! I am all shades of impressed! Thanks for sharing your beautiful work! Sharon
Oh I do have a question, do you add any kind of stiffener to the fabric on the bag?
I used batting in between the blue print and the curtain lining, which was white.I then free motion quilted it.The only other thing that I used,is cut-a-way with the 2 lining pieces, same size as lining.I used some batting and just a 1in cut a way in the handles,to give some padding,so they wouldn't dig into my arm/shoulder.I also used cut-a-way in between my pocket and pocket lining, divided in 3.She doesn't have this on her pattern,it is something I personally added for me, you know, for glasses, shades, etc.
Thank you Toogie, I didn't even see the free motion quilting till you said that. It is very pretty! I bet you'll get a ton of compliments on it! I have got to do this sometime soon!
Your bag looks great. Love the fabric also. Good work. Thank you for sharing the link. Lyn
You do such nice work. Thanks for showing your projects.
Love your bag, colours, style, pockets, recycling, whats not to like? I love it.
Lovely bag.Have downloaded the patterns now all I need is time
What a beautiful purse, I love it and thanks for the info on it, I will give it a try but have to finish the 2 purses I have started first....
Your fabric was perfect...
Loralye says finish those UFOs-lol-Yes,please give it a try so we can see your version. Thanks for looking.
Your bag looks great, many thanks for information link. I got the pattern and it is on my will make list. Thank you. G
Stunning bag. I downloaded the pattern long ago, but you have inspired me now to make one too. Love the fabric
I thought someone here, had made some a while back, and gave us the link then.I must have saved it then too.It can out nice with good instructions.I used a batting and stippled mine, instead of fusible fleece and I interfaced my lining with cut-a-way.
Super job from supplies to finish. I love it!
Thank you,I was glad to find these new valances.Did you see the original price in the photo?
You did an amazing job! I love it! Do you use anything in the bottom of the bag so it will keep it's shape and not sag? Just curious. I have tried several things and nothing seems to work for me.
The name does it so if anyone hit you up tell them it is at least a 55 dollar purse due to the fabric. I think it is a 100 dollar purse..... it is beautiful Toogie.
to joannmeyer-I will get my husband to either cut me a piece of pexiglass(like our rulers are made of) or formica (like thin counter top) to which I will make a slip case, like a pillowcase out of lining fabric for it,to insert inside the bottom. He has these things left over, in his workshop.
to highlander-I HAD to use Waverly fabric,it's a Wavy Top Bag-lol-No kidding thanks, glad you like it.
