You are so Brave Dennis! I bought a ton of crystals and the applicator about six or seven months ago but haven't gotten around to trying it yet. We also moved seven months ago and I'd broken my wrist so that explains some of the delay. I finally did some unpacking in my sewing room a couple of weeks ago so I know exactly where they are should I get ambitious! I like the idea of using them on fsl ornaments so that may be the first thing I'll try it on. Do let us know how easy/difficult they are to use! I look forward to seeing some great things so I can get motivated to try it myself!
Meri
I don't know about being 'brave' Meri..................'stupid' more like........lol. Like you, I'm just hoping to add a different dimension to certain designs, particularly in fsl. I'll keep you updated.
I just had a look on the You Tube about hot-fix. I don't think that I've got enough patience for it, hope you have.
I am looking forward to seeing some of your results. It is fun to work with.
Thanks for mentioning the heat tool and crystals. I bought those a decade ago and used it then quite a bit, but it has been resting in my cave for years. Time to use it again!
OMG, once you start you won't stop. Soooo many possibilities. I love using them on FSL Christmas ornaments. OK, girlie girl talking here, but I love Bling on my t-shirts, capris and I could go on and on. Have fun...Hugs..Carol
can't wait to see the added dimension to your embroidery. Good luck.
Best of luck with the Crystals. I have not had a go with these either. Maybe one day. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Shirley
Very interesting...I bought the heat set tool and a bunch of different crystals about 18 months ago...all are still in the bag...perhaps I should go have another look as there is probably a pair of scissors still in that same bag...Looking forward to seeing your "bling"...
Oh Dennis you are SO going to enjoy playing with your Bling wand. As will your dear wife Anne. Looking forward to seeing your creations in projects :)
We are looking forward to seeing what you have up your sleeves. I've not used them either but I have several granddaughters who would probably want me too.
It's great and there is no way to mess it up. Just slap on some more and it will be blinding to those who glance at it. Your lovely wife will no doubt have something in mind for you to decorate. Your home will never be the same. Shine on
Bev
Thanks Bev. You are a shining star. I have intentionally not mentioned anything to 'er indoors. lol
You can explain what is is when she answers the door for the delivery person on Thursday. You may be so busy blinging it will be days before we hear from you again. lol
Well Dennis adding crystals to your work, looks like the man cave will need a padlock on now especially if its pink crystals. Have fun
Thank you Caroline. I have now changed the five lever mortice lock, fitted a hasp and padlock and following your suggestion I have ordered one of those electrified cattle fences. That should keep the little minx out!
If that doesn't work you could always dig a moat with an alligator or just admit defeat
They certainly add a lot to any creation! I look forward to seeing your bling! ~hugs~
Have you looked at the video? You do not have the crystal tool from bernina, right? I would love to see what you get and what you do with it! I can only do them one a ta time with the heat tool.
I am going to start off just with the heat tool although I do already have a large heat clamp to use if I get the bug and decide to move onto larger designs. We shall see.
So we can expect a lot more bling from you? Way to go! Looking forward to see you sparkle...
Thank you. I should be alright so long as I don't get the things stuck on me.....lol
I think you should sprinkle a few in your hair,we shall call you the "Bling King"
They are wonderful - you will have fun! I just finished a shirt where I used the crystals as centers of flowers (hoping to get a pic uploaded sometime). Did you order a tool to put them on with - makes it MUCH easier!
Yes, that's the sort of project I have in mind to do. I have ordered the heat tool with all the different sizes of tips but I also already have a heat clamp which I will use for larger projects if things go well.
You should be good to go then. The one with all the tips is the best (I started with a cheapie battery operated one that just had the flat tip).
