Please what did work or are you still trying?
I'm still working on it. I put in a larger needle. But, it still took about 8 tries before it threaded.... grrrrr. It is so fast, I just can't see if it is hitting in the right place. I can see the little pin. Maybe it just got a little bent..... :-(
Thank You Thank You Thank You for all your ideas! I'm going to try ALL your ideas here in just a little bit and will let you know what works! I appreciate all your help! Now if only these eyes can actually see that little pin! Hugs and Hopes, Jan
I might also add, make sure the needle is all the up by turning the hand wheel. On my Viking it doesn't line up with the threader if it isn't all the up.
thank you cuties for advise my needle threader on my quattro stopped working too I will try all your ideas...soozie
My Ellisimo did the same thing & I told my husband I needed to take it back to my dealer. Before I got it ready to take in I changed the needle & that solved the problem. The needle was very, very slightly bent. I could hardly see the bend but boy my threader sure could.
No trip to the dealer & it's working great.
Look closely and see if the little wire is still there in the middle of the threader. Mine boke off and I had to have it replaced on my babylock Enterprise. if it is there just bend it a little until it lines up with the needle hole. Hope this helps. Suzanne
If you have not already, try at least a 75 size needle - it won't auto-thread a 70 or smaller. I use 80/12 universals in my Quattro (or 80/12 ball-point for knits). If a bigger needle does not thread it is possible the little wire was bent and needs to be straightened out so it works again (then the bigger needle going forward). Hoping all is better this morning.
So? that was like 11 pm when you posted. Now it is morning. Are things better?
Hopefully, you have solved the problem...but if not, try calling your dealer first...they may be able to talk you through a solution...
Another thing to try, is maybe the needle is a little too high or a little too low in the arm where it holds it? sorry, that's not a very technical way to describe. But, try to not push it up too hard, then try to lower it a little. Get a flashlight and magnifying glass and see if you can see where the wire is hitting. Good Luck to you!!
Thanks, I wondered about that too.... I will get out the magnifying glass!
Hope you got it fixed? So frustrating to have a new machine and have something quit on ya. Happy Easter!!
I had trouble with the needle threader on my Husqvarna Diamond a few years ago ,it turned out that the threader wouldn't work on a size 70 needle because the needle eye was too small for the metal piece of the threader to fit through. This might be the problem
