Hi,

Something to think about for all the Cuties - when you do spring cleaning, take the things you do not want to an animal shelter. Most of them belong to charity shops where they get a portion of the sales, so the things you do not want can be sold to help various charities.

We have something called "Cat Friends", and they collect what you do not want. These things are sold in a charity shop. This shop helps six different charity organizations, of which Cat Friends are one.

Cat Friends collected the stuff I did not want, and they said not to throw anything away, regardless of how old or tattered. They find uses for it.

Support our furry friends!
Best Regards
Anneliese

Good advice! I'm going through a major purge now and will keep this in mind for all the stuff I don't want to pay to have moved! Thanks!

A while back my hubby took a bag full of old towels/sheets & the like to our vet for the animals. The vet asked my hubby why? I think the vet was shocked that we had thought of them. so hubby just said well you need these sort of things for the animals. They seemed so grateful.

Good for you! Yes, our furry friends need us, yet a lot of people do not care, or simply do not think of the furry ones in need. And we do not realize how much an old towel can mean to the people caring for them. New towels are expensive, yet towels are needed. And it is amazing what can be used for bedding.

I am sure they were very grateful.

Gee, I'm tired. Had to walk the stairs up and down (3 sets of stairs, we live in the top apartment) 15 times to get all the stuff down for the cat lady to collect. My bum knee is really complaining...

She loves the stuff, and when I told her we are moving soon, she was quite upset. She thought I would find someone else to collect the stuff! So I reassured her, I will only give to her as long as she collects it, and I will give her my new address.

See, I did craft markets in the past, and have to get rid of everything that was not sold. So she is getting bath salts, candles, vases, paintings, stuff I embroidered and sewed out, bead jewelery etc. Oh of cause, and a lot of rubbish.

But she insists on me giving her the rubbish, as apparently they can use old torn clothes for bedding.

So, today I'm resting until my son brings the next batch from storage...

Have a fun weekend, and remember when doing your spring cleaning, our furry friends need us!

Hi,

"Cat friends" are coming to collect some stuff from me today. We moved from a big house to an apartment, so there are lots of stuff to sort through and give away.

She had two hip replacements, and struggle to go up and down the three flight of stairs to our apartment, so I have to take it down to the parking area for her.

I had a knee operation in December, and still have problems negotiating the stairs. So I have a fun day ahead of me...

Keep on sending those spring cleaning unwanted items to the animal shelters! Our furry friends need our support.

You can also take your old bedding, towels, comforters. the animals love to have something comfy to lie on. they don't care if it is faded.

Yes! They asked me throw nothing away, but to give everything to them, even if it is torn clothes or broken items. They find a use for everything, even if it is just recycling.

Definitely! Our local Baptist church even collects things, they have a clothes closet for no charge twice a month for those in need.
