This is a beautiful design without the thread painting - but the thread painting makes it FANTASTIC. Terrific work.
Well done on taking the plunge into free motion embroidery. You have done a wonderful job here and it all links in so very neatly
Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments. I just love looking at tigress and cub. I can not believe I made it. I still think I should pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming.
Now to start a new project. Not sure what it will be of yet.
Hi,
I simply love animals (not snakes and bugs though!) and I love cats the most. And my favourite big cat is a tiger.
This is absolutely stunning. Pat yourself on the shoulder, you did an outstanding job.
Have a fun week-end! (If I were you, I would spend most of it gazing at this tigress and cub...)
Anneliese
It turned out beautiful. what paint did you use please.
Hugs Pam.

Thread painting is done with thread in your regular sewing machine. I believe it was Mops who said it is a free hand embroidery using a sewing machine. The way embroidering with a machine before embroidery machine. No actual paint was used.
wow this is fantastic will have to go look at the design I know my son would love this...soozie
Beautiful - lined up perfect and everything. Are you going to frame this and hang on your wall?
Beautiful,,, you can be very proud of yourself.. Great Great job.. would not have guessed was your first thread painting..
Absolutely stunning! Suz's designs are beautiful and the addition of your thread painting really makes the tigers pop.
Wow!!!!It is Stunning... So beautiful..Great Work and well done!!!
Your thread choices and thread painting make this a work of art! Ok. I admit it. I'm jealous that you can create such a fantastic project on your machine. Makes me want to get a new one.
The tigress is a multiple hoop design. I tis done in four different hoopings. The thread painting I used my regular sewing machine and a 5 inch round hand embroidery hoop to help hold the material.
Such a lovely tigeress with cub you've done& the addition of your threads adds good texture too.Wondered what weight of thread you'd used? Thanks for sharing your work. :~D
I used 40 wt thread mostly Exquisite Brand 100% polyester. I brought my temp plates in and a young girl helped me pick out the rest of the colors I still needed. Mom wrote the thread color numbers next to the color on the color chart. It took me a while to get the right colors, then take a lesson at the embroidery shop to learn how to line up the design parts. Once the tigress and cub were finished I kept thinking it needs something more. Then I saw the thread painting.
wow!!!! beautiful
I am amazed every time I look at this project. I wonder if others make something and then think I can not believe I did this!
Wow, this is stunning!! It is so crisp.....beautiful work!
Beautiful and I think you did an excellent job with your thread painting. I would be afraid that I'd mess up the tigers doing it after they were stitched out. You were very brave to do it. Thank you so much for sharing.
It took me a few months to get brave and try the thread painting once I saw a picture with thread painting. I took a deep breath and thought what is the worse that could happen? I would just have to redo the project.
It looks fantastic, it's amazing how the thread painting just grounds the whole scene.
Yes, I agree that it turned out fantastic actually better then I thought it would. I learn a lot from viewing and reading others projects. Everyone inspires me to try something new. Thanks everyone
Fantastic job...love the thread painting addition...
Thank you. It took me a while to give the thread painting a try I was afraid at first then it turned into fun.
Wow!
That is what I think when I look at the finished project. I still can not believe I stitched it out and it turned out like you say Wow!
Impressive. You have every reason to be pleased. Never mind first time, I don't see how you are going to improve on this. Thank you for your post.
Thank you, I love how it turned out and I am so glad I did not ruin the design while stitching it out. It is my first multiple hoop design and thread painting.
The tigers are beautiful and the thread painting (free hand embroidery like we used to do before embroidery machines?) makes it look even more stunning. You did a great job!
Thank you. I did not know that is how machine embroidery was done before embroidery machines. The thread painting was fun to do and I am thinking of doing more of it combined with machine embroidery designs.
Very-very nice design and it looks like the real !! Well done
Thank you. I went to multiple embroidery shops looking for just the right threads.
WOW!!!!it looks stunning and beautiful great job
Thank you. I will most likely order more designs from BFC that are multiple hooping now that I got brave and made one and it turned out in the first try.
This is awesome!!! You did a great job on it! Really, all I can say is WOW! Hugs, Tammy
Stunning so life like. What size is it?
The tigress and cub are done in four hoopings and the finished size is 15 inches long and 7 inches tall. The total size after the thread painting is 19 1/2 inches long and 10 inches tall. Thanks for your comment I believe this is the most beautiful thing I have made yet.
so real looking
Yes, I love the design. I made it for my husband a very late Christmas gift.
