My sister spent four days helping me pack the house for our long-distance move coming up soon. And when I opened my sewing room door, she sighed and said she'd leave that to me. My family loves my creativity but she was astonished how I work in "that mess". She's not like us and can't thread a needle (even though I've shown her severa; times). LOL So, I hear this all the time! My treasures are their eyesores! LOL
My kids are scared to death, I will leave this earth before I get rid of all my stuff. Just bury me in the pile and bury it. LOL
Love that card!
I recently moved rooms and one helper asked if I knew what was in the cupboard she was moving. Of course, I didn't. I needed the bigger room to help me find all that I had. LOL
My sister came over one day and saw how much fabric and craft supplies I have and said: "You win." I didn't know it was a contest!?
Then I need to stop speaking to my husband.Just this evening he was telling his cousin and wife,if they ever need any fabric, don't go to the fabric shop, just come here. The nerve of him!....I am showing this to a few OTHER people,so maybe they too, will leave me be, afterall this IS my room.-lol
I total agree, everyone comments on all my stuff, but if they need something done, they know where to go. LOL!
Isn't that the truth.I know I won't live long enough to use what I already have, but we have to leave SOMETHING for our kids! LOL
Something for our kids to pitch! My Mother overbought groceries (child of The Great Depression) and we threw out corn oil that was 16 years out of date - along with other bottles that were more recently out of date! At least our fabric doesn't have a sell by date.
Knit fabrics and elastics do have a 'use by date'. They lose there stretch when they get too old. So it is always a good idea to test before spending all that time sewing with old stretchy stuff.
It does have its uses, though!
I used old elastic in a skirt that I made when having my last child some 34 years ago. The skirt and the elastic lasted the whole 8 months - yes I knew I was pregnant before the tests could confirm it.
Must have thrown it away as I don't recall wearing it after I had him. :-)
I don't have anything I don't absolutely need. It's just that I always need just 1 more thing or 2. You know how it goes
It's never enough if the stores still have plenty on their shelves!
Beautiful! I saw it on Designs by Juju's website. Doesn't it apply to most of us here?
Shame on you dennis...to be so tight with your 'purse strings'.I think some of the Cuties near you need to take you on a shopping spree and the first thing you need is a good, new pair of scissors to cut all that fabric they get you to buy!-lol
Thankfully Toogie, I am on my own down here! lol. As for my purse strings, I don't have any.............purse strings or money! Any loose change I may have of an evening, is gone by the morning! I have my trusty one pair of multi-purpose scissors and if I need anything bigger I just resort to the garden sheers............lol.
Incidentally, did you see the new Sunday bonnet designs posted?
No,but I will look now, thanks for the heads up....At least you didn't say you have a chain saw!-lol
I am a bit s-l-o-w today dennis....are you saying you think I need another hat? I am afraid ,you got me !
