A lady gave me a pair of Amazon parrots, the female has laid eggs and is setting them now. The male is sick and he needs to help her with the eggs. Would you please say a prayer for him.? Thanks. Aleene

He is still eating and seems some better. He is still feeding the mom. I want them to hatch those eggs the lady that had them threw all their eggs away. They aren't hand tame but have never offer to bit me. I have been feeding him peanut butter with a spoon.

I have a African Grey, Also!
I am praying! give him lots of fruits and veggies. and I even give mine Cheerios, and stuff like that! I hope he is okay... I could have got my Sisters Female Grey and did the Egg thing, but I did not want to change my Male greys personally in any way, so I choose not too! Good luck, always know that you can get those eggs in a incubator to get them hatched, that is what they do at pet stores.. lwatts

The only vet around here only clips wings, toenails.and beaks. And I can't take it across state lines for treatment. He does seem some better.
Thanks to all

I've never heard of a Vet that doesn't treat birds, very unusual

Hi, it is important that they go to a vet that specializes in birds, he will not scare the parrots and will know exactly what to do to help you.

Ordinary vets do not treat a lot of birds and do not have the specialized knowledge to help them. (according to my vet who immediately send me to a vet specializing in birds when my parrot got ill.)

Please read the comment below regarding parrots (hichtechgrammy), parrots die very quickly if they get ill and are not treated promptly.

You are both in my prayers.

I have African Grey parrots. When parrots get sick it is very important that they stay warm. They can also die very quickly. You need to call a vet and get him there right away. His life is actually more important than the chicks, because they cannot survive without him. I hope and pray you get the help you need. Hugs, Jan

So sorry to hear that he is sick. Have you called the vet for suggestions? The first thing to do is check him for parasites. He could be infested and it wouldn't show underneath the feathers. She will need his help for the eggs to hatch. Prayers for his recovery.

Do they mate for life? I am so sorry, my sister had birds until there was a bad egg laying experience. Has he been seen by a Vet? I know nothing so I give a prayer.
