I hang my head in shame, that I missed it. I have used it many times in the military. Thanks for the game.
I too thought it was a sewing machine foot.
It was fun and I think it's good to have a bit of play.
Thank you
Oh bother! I can not believe I missed it! Even with the hint. I got one also when you were in town! We were at the surplus store! I put mine away, however now I am going to find it. What does it do again? Open cans?
This was a fun idea to share Jan! I hope others give this a shot....i think my sewing-desk drawers have many extraneous objects inside....many have chocolate!!
Well my hubby spotted that & I said it was a foot for the machine...lol Don't know if I should tell him or not...lol
Thanks Jan,
That jumped out at me right from the first look, but I thought it was a special kind of sewing foot attachment for one of your sewing machines! Just goes to show, you should go with your gut instinct! Great fun, love Chris
I actually thought that may have been a machine sewing foot....ha.

This should work better - sorry!
This is really a neat little item, be handy to have to have around if not electrics :) thanks so much for the fun. Leaha
I got it right. We always had one of these in the house when I was a kid. You can watch a video on you tube of how it works. And it was right in front. I first guessed Yoda then took another look.
Bev
thank you for the answer. But I still don't know what the item is. The link does not work for me. Can you post a picture of the actual item?
Thank you for the fun. Hugs :)
Well, I don't think Dennis ever got to see this, but we sure had a lot of fun with it! All in all I think seven people got it right! The number one guess by far was Yoda, tunny little green guy. But, he is actually a USB flash drive for my embroidery machine, the second most guessed answer was the torch, more commonly called a flash light in the US. I use that lots of time looking for thread caught in my machines. And that washer-like thingy is a screw remover, provided by Brother. But the actual item is the P-38 and Army issued can opener by sister gave me over 30 years ago that just kicks around in my sewing supplies. A couple of people suggested it might use it for a thread ripper! Here is a link to the website page from my dad and my website Remember the Deadeyes where the P-38 is explained - all from my interest in this little device! I hope you had fun with this, and hope someone else will take us on a little trip in their sewing room! Thanks everyone!
It's about 2/3 down this page. This is what my dad and I do all the time together! It's his army division!
I'm going to wait to reveal this for just a couple more hours so Dennis can see it and guess still! Four people have guess it correctly. Come on Dennis, we are all rooting for you!
Right I have now sent my second guess off and am waiting for a reply
I got it wrong too! The only other thing I see that SOME may not use, I use! so can't be that!
This is fun and I sent a PM but got it wrong I guess. I do know that Yoda was too obvious. :)
I keep waiting and waiting for the answer :-)) I think I have it, but don't know how to do a new PM... but that's ok... I am having fun reading the posts! and adding the flowers!!

Yes I had 2 guess's and got both wrong,,,now let me look again....Where of where is OUR DENNIS.....
Thanks for such great participation! It's been fun! I'm hoping Dennis will see this and give his guess. I'll post the answer tomorrow. Three people have found the right answer! Yoda is having a great time.
I'm still trying to figure out some of the items, but I have a pin cushion exactly like yours (on the left). My sister brought it to me from Taiwan over 40 years ago!!
My parents brought it to me from the World's Fair a long, long time ago!
I know a few people who have the exact same pincushion here in Australia.
That is pretty neat, I've never seen a pin cushion like that, great information!
I am sending you my guess, will we have to wait for Dennis to find out the answer.
Left you a pm.
Looks tidy compare with my space!!
LOL, that pic should cheer Dennis up a lot, and make him feel better! Lots of scissors! His fav!!
And that is just a few of mine! Hope he feels included with this picture!
sent you a pm. - just wondering how tricky you are! lol
Interesting collection of sewing bit and pieces. A lot seem familiar to me. LOVE the container of mixed types of SCISSORS. LOL Shirley
Pm me if you think you know what it is! I'll reveal in two days!
