Almost every day, a question is posted about when DBC is likely to return. This is usually from someone who does not contribute to the forum in any way, but is upset because they can no longer take the free designs. I'm sure that most of you are heartily fed up of reading these (as I am), although several of you are very tactful and answer politely every time.

One of these questions yesterday received some very pertinent comments which I thought should be brought to everyone's attention. Please have a look at the link.

I would love to see it return as i am on a very tight budget and can't afford to purchase designs very often. This site was a Godsend to me when i joined as i was just starting out and everyone was so friendly and helpful on here.Do I miss the dbc's?? Absolutely!! Do I expect them?Absolutely not. And I still come to the site a couple of times a week to check out the projects and catch up on the community.I truly appreciate everything these talented ladies shared with us in the past and i hope to see it back in future but in the meantime I will continue to visit the site for the comradery and to get inspiration from other's projects. Thank you ladies and digitisers and Miss Veronica for a wonderful site!!

Have read through this and not seen a lot of comments from those who have been here almost from the beginning. Why ? Because Cute has never been to us a place for free designs although that was a plus for us. It has been a place of commradery, a place where we made friends who laughed with us and at us, they cried when we cried and listened to us voice our hurt, losses and pain and clapped with us for joy when the good things occurred. We prayed for ea. other whether it was asked for or not. We just didn't voice it. So often my friends here have lifted me up when I was so very far down.. Why? Because they CARED FOR ME AND i KNEW IT. It will be nice if DBC comes back, Ms Veronika has put a lot of time and effort in it and I might add, Cute is Ms. V. she has always been there caring and helping. I haven't the words to say what Cute means to me. We have always welcomed newbies with open arms and will continue to but I want them to know Cute stands for more than just FREE DESIGNS . Actually it's a loving, caring , compassionate group of artists, experienced and new at it., both./Lillian

Dear Lillian, how beautifully worded this answer is. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I've never been one for the FREEBIES, Ilove the camaraderie, the friendships I've made and finding out new things and how to do them. Love Chris

This is my first time to this forum. I don't go to forums very often because when I do, I don't get any sewing, embroidery or housework done. I don't know how or have software to digitize so I cannot add to the collection. I have been on Social Security Disability since 1998 and let me say, you don't know how little you can live on, until you have too. I had a great career until I was injured in a fall. You swallow your pride and use the programs available. Thank you to Veronica and all of the people who work to keep these sites running every day. I do appreciate the effort you put in to do it.

Embroidery Designs are a luxury. I enjoyed the DBC area and thought it was like an apprenticeship for new digitizers. I assumed when they left DBC, they went on to their own sites or a group site. The one reason I would like the DBC to come back is unfinished sets make me a tad nuts, I waste time checking for the letters all the time. I have uncompleted alphabets and every once in a while I wonder if DBC will be back because I don't want to delete an entire alphabet for one or two missing letters. If they don't want to bring the DBC back; maybe Ms. Veronica could tell us where/how we could get missing designs. Especially if the digitizers have gone on to their own site. I don't mind paying for the occasional design if the price is reasonable. Thank you all for your time, ctirish

Going to stick my my neck out.......... Ms Veronika has so many sites to look after and obviously has a life too where she just needs time for herself. Perhaps it would be better if DBC was put to bed for ever. There are only a handful of people who keep asking when DBC is coming back. The majority of Cuties love this site for what they can learn and helping others. Just a thought. Sarah.

It would be such a waste of all the time Ms Veronika already spent to pull the stop now. Fortunately most people don't mind being patient and enjoy all the things this site offers.

Agree, mops! Patience is a virture! However you spell it! :-)

I joined long after the famed DBC closed, I think this group is fabulous and love the help and sharing and info, when I see others post their DBC designs I do wonder what lovely treats were up there, but am more than happy to just be here for the chit chat and friendliness.(and newbie help!)

First, I have an extremely limited income (and am only going to have my job for another 12 months), so free designs are a great help to me. And just so we are clear, I have not really contributed much (would love to be a digitizer but can not afford the programs or classes).

That being said, I would like to also say that I really enjoy the community on Cute Embroidery and hope that that never ends although this constant complaining and debating about DBC is getting very tedious. I remember the free patterns and miss them, if it ever does open back up, it would be a wonderful treat, but that is just it- it is a treat not something that should be expected. When DBC shut down, I went looking for these ladies at other websites, it took some time, but guess what- some of them offer free patterns and inexpensive patterns on their own web sites.

I want to thank Cute Embroidery for introducing me to all of the wonderful digitizers that I would never have found without the site.

Thank you for that - that was my experience as well when I first found Cute.
I hope you will think about spending more time here in the forum and that you will soon be able to add to it. There are more ways to contribute than as a digitiser!

Hi and a welcome to Cute as I have not had the opportunity to do so before

Leaha by Leaha 10 May 2014

Welcome to this site. You've educated me in that I didn't know a lot of the people here have their own sites. How wonderful for them and that makes their sharing here and even greater gift in my eyes. Now I know I have truly stumbled on a treasure as I can learn from the masters. I am humbled by this knowledge. Thank you everyone!

I visit here often---still remember the DBC site---there are MANY other sites to get freebies---it takes a little time to find them but they are there---some may get upset that DBC is not up and running--BUT--before passing on judgments (from both sides)---we do NOT know the situations of individuals----some may be on EXTREMELY limited incomes and can ONLY embroider if the designs are free----others may be too cheap to purchase designs---there are SOOO many sites which have sales of reasonably priced sets---$1 for a bunch occasionally---but even that $1 may be too much for some----PLEASE do NOT PASS and PLACE judgment on each other----just love each other and pray for those who have attitudes and opinions that differ from our own individual----thank you and God bless and keep each and every one of y'all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

It is not a matter of income. The most valuable thing I have is my time. I am happy to share this with other people. I am happy to spend it doing things for other people. I have been very grateful to those members of this community who have helped me along the way. What really annoys me is people who want to take everything that is on offer, but are not prepared to give anything back to the community.

If you read through the thread in the link above, you will see why I started this thread.

osueo by osueo 10 May 2014

Good points you have made!!!!!! I have learned so much and received help and tips when I had sewing and embroidery issues. There is no other place on line that I have found where someone can get help and and ideas and solutions for sewing/embroidery questions. God bless y'all!!!!!!!!

Agree with you Sue. Most of all upsets me when people ask (and this is a very nice word for some of the posts) for DBC who do not participate in any way on the rest of the page. There are so many places in the net with freebies although it is nice that it seems we have the reputation to have high quality freebies ;o)
Greetings, Bettina

I am sad to read the posts here on this site. I love to come here nearly everyday and read what my cute family have been up to. How their families are. To see the beautiful projects they have made, to read all the wonderful ideas and to try help with their problems. I appreciate all the lovely designs we get from Veronica and her team. I am patiently waiting for the DBC to open but only because I have been building up a few new designs to share. Being a member of Cute is being part of an international worldwide family. There are many other sites to visit if your want freebies, this site is SOOO much more than that. I do think new cuties should have to read and agree to a conditions and rules and information agreement, before they can access the rest of the site. Maybe then there will be less confusion and upsets.
hugs
Helen

I come to Cute almost daily and have for quite sometime. I don't always comment and I don't have personal relationships with any of the other cuties although I love hearing about those who do. I'm not looking for free designs but if there is one and it's something I like I will grab it. I used to take them all when I first started but not anymore since I have more than enough that I will never use them even if I live to be old as a vampire so I don't worry about it. So many good ideas and tips here that it is never a waste of time to check in. I appreciate everyone who is involved in making the site operate. You know who you are...Thanks for all you do.
