I used to say I wanted to write my autobiography and when they made the movie I wanted Meryl Streep to play my part so I could be tall and slender! But I think it would really be Kathy Bates and that's ok as I think she's a great actress. BUT....then I want Sean Connery as my husband!! Ahhh....fantasy....tis a wonderful thing!! We can be who we want and then fly away!!!!
Sue _ I have also just reread this and it is great. Well thought of!!!
I've just read through this whole thread and laughed along with you at every post! Thank you all. Laughter is fantastic medicine.
Nice to see Marji popping up here and there as well! (Hope you enjoyed the medicine.)
I would like Dame Judy Dench to play me. Hope I have spelt her name correctly!!!
Maybe we can share, after all, Dame Judy has a multitude of talents. She would have to wear a brown wig to play me anyway, because I seem to have inherited my Dad's hair, at at almost 66 have very little grey.
Now, that would be fun! I love it when a talented actress plays more than one role.
Marji - I will be fine as my hair is almost white!!!! And I sound like her. LOL
Without getting into much detail...one of the Cuties knows what my last couple days has been like, so I would like Forrest Gump to play me..I know its a guy, but we do need a few of those in this series right? Also I like Chocolates...
And shrimp? That's another of my favourites, for the humor. But most days I feel more like Captain Dan....
LOL -- not doubt...just thought you were teasing.
Forest it is then... You may feel that way but Forest will have a VERY difficult time playing you!
Well here is my first drama as Jamie Leigh Curtis........my hard drive on my desk top is failing......now how would Jamie handle this.......and don't tell me to breathe and go eat an Activia...LOL.....I did back up Sunday AM, so it is just a matter of getting the new hard drive installed and files transferred and then Jim will have to reinstall all my programs......oh, joy!! This is why my Bernina software kept crashing on me, I thought it was the software and here it was a hardware issue.....Am using my laptop for now, but it is not hooked up to my sewing machines, so all I can do is digitize for now........boo hoo!!
She would use Ghost and transfer all programs and data to the new hard-drive. Just like copy the whole thing. Think of it like an cassette tape. You can copy one to the new -- only if the original is still good enough.
I hope that make some sense
I asked the computer guy if all that can be done and he said he can transfer the files, but Jim would have to reinstall the programs, so I will ask him tomorrow why he doesn't have or use Ghost.......it could be that the failure won't allow it?
It could be that he cannot afford the software. ;)
It isn't cheap. Ask if he can do an ISO
So what is next?? Now we have the cast, and some of the crew...what do we do?????
Hugs, Nadyne ( aka Helen Mirren )
OK........I just saw this post and want to audition Jaimie Lee Curtis as me.......why? Because I love spooky movies (we all know she is the queen of scream) and she is smart and funny....I think she would "get" my sense of humor...........
Did anyone see her do her dance in "True Lies"...how hilarious when she tried to be sexy and fell.....'nough said!
That's one of my "go to" tapes (yes, I said tape) when I feel the need for funny escape. I really like the jet plane scenes, too, as well as the tango.
No one wants to be Honey Boo-Boo or June Mama-Boo-Boo? Me neither
You guys are so funny! I have no clue who I would want to be me! But she'll have to have a Hillbilly accent! Yeah, I talk like Dolly P., but heavens I sure don't look like her!! Even if we did grow up not too far from each other! I do have blond hair, but it's out of a bottle instead of off the wig stand! Think I'll just sit & watch the show!!
No sitting it out...we are all part of Cute drama. Dolly Parton may do your character justice
Yes, I have and I cannot think of a better person to play *you* than someone that already has the accent. ;-)
Come on Cuties there are many of you who need to take part - please
There are quite a few more mature actresses who will be fighting each other for a part in this drama. Does any one fancy having Helen Mirren or Meryl Streep play them?
I was thinking you meant Betty White or Rue McClanahan from the Gloden girls. :)
I keep thinking there must be a Bea Arthur in our group. I know she has passed on...but a sharp mind quick whit and her singing talent...there must be one of us that fits.
What about Natalie Wood?
I suggest that since an actress has not been taken (almost) and Mariji is too ill to play right now -- that we ask Dame Judy Dench to play Marji.
Actually, it is, she's one of my all time favourites!
Not feeling much better, but thought I'd best at least comment, since you have me so perfectly cast.
I highly recommend Dame Judy in "Mrs. Henderson Presents"--British film of course, got it in the sale bin for $3, super funny, great story. But NOT for the kiddies, or anyone objecting to too little clothing, because that's the whole core of the story. I get the best oddball foreign (to the USA) films in that $3 bin!
I just read this thread...oh my, what fun! I'm thinking......I never watched much Dynasty. Could I be Helen Mirren perhaps? I loved her in "Reds", and anything else she plays in!
Hugs and giggles, Nadyne
Diana Dors - Blonde, curvy, luscious, in fact everything I'm not but have dreamed of being in my younger life. though someone who could sing would be nice as I'm tone deaf. Jo
Thanks I hadn't thought of that one, but is this production going to be a musical?
I would like Taylor Swift to play me... young, beautiful blond hair, can carry a tune, slender... sooooo not me, but this is fantasy!
Dear Sue,
I think I'd be Olympia Dukasis from Steel Magnolias as I believe we are all women of strength! Seeing as I am known as the Silver Foxy Lady, I thought it very appropriate! This has been fun reading all the comments made. Love Chris
Chris, you have selected wisely!
Jan, you must pick someone that can play YOU in our Cute Embroidery TV series. If Dolly isn't already taken by gerryb -- then perhaps she can play you.
I've just read through all of the posts which have appeared while I was under the duvet and had a good laugh. Thanks to you all.
As this is a fantasy production (actually, Veronika must be the producer) I think we may cast the casting net a bit further and include those actresses no longer with us. So, jrob, you can go to the ball (Lucille that is).
Anyone for Margaret Rutherford?
Also if a man dressed as a woman won the Eurovision Song Contest, why don't we spread the net even further?
Oh my! It's really difficult to think of an actress to play my role here. I don't post like I used to because I kept making mistakes and got to learn all the moderaters well enough to call them by name! lol Perhaps Bea Arthur from Maude! and the golden girls. Maybe with a touch of Phyllis Diller as my hair is usually a mess. I really like the honesty and wholesomeness of Sally Fields but that might be taking my innocense to an unheard of level. I need to find someone who has gray hair hidden under long red locks who also has a fair share of wrinkles and the dentures from hell. She'd have to be slightly lumpy and short on stature with a quick wit and a big heart.ah well, It looks like I'm left with the old Edith Bunker with a little more intelligence and less tolerant of idiots. Guess I'll have to think about it some more!
Meri
Well its going to be one of two for me. Dame Judy Dench if in posh mode or Juliette Kaplan. ( the down to earth and long suffering Pearl from "Last of the summer wine) for the every day person
But i think that Juliet Kaplan would be the better of the two, I will find a beret and bring it next time we meet up.
I adore both of those actresses and the shows they play -- one of my favorite movies is Chocolat because of Dame Judy Dench and I am afraid some of the "English Humour" shows we have here on our public TV stations would not be the same without these ladies.
Likewise, Cute would not be the same without many of our members.
I LOVE "Pearl"! And Howard is such a hoot, always cycling with Marina & ending up hiding in the hedges. I adore the BBC comedies we get over here. I miss "Are You Being Served?" and "Keeping Up Appearances"--I don't know how those writers from England knew my Aunt Helen here in the States, but Mrs. Bucket is her to the life!
Rosanne Barr can play me!!!
I need one of those! The riding part, don't care about the drink holder. I've said that for years, that I'd actually vacuum if I had a riding sweeper...
I never watched Dynasty, but my grandson once said my younger photos look like Reese Witherspoon, in the Jonny Cash movie,Walk The Line.I don't keep up with the gossips about the actors/actresses so I do hope she is not a 'bad' type........I wonder if she wears hats-lol
I was thinking Sandra Bullock could play my part or maybe Emily Deschanel. My husband said I should be played by Lea Thompson -- who know why.
However, if Jerrilyn decides to be an Angel... Well, you will need to read that bit under her comment.
Oh, how I wish Lucille Ball were still alive. I'm going to have to go hold auditions for my part. Any ideas?
Stephanie Beacham? maybe. She's a bit older, but that doesn't matter as she looks younger than I.
Dolly Parton? I thought about her in my role but we don't have 2 things in common and I can't sing.
A young Kate Jackson or Jacklyn Smith would work for you -- but then I will need to be played by a young Lindsay Wagner. You are sweet like an Angel!
Me -- I just have bionic hearing...
LOL
There is always Lynda Carter-Wonder Woman. I wonder what she looks like today? Does she still fit in the outfit?
I don't know what she looks like now -- but I would love the rope she used. However, I think being Bionic matches me better as my bones tend to creak when I walk -- much like the noise made when the Bionic Woman would run. LOL
Lynda Carter aka Wonder Woman doesn't look to bad for a 63 yr old and she claims she still has the outfit and DOES fit in it. :)
LOL this is so much fun! I have waited all of my life to be an angel! YEAH! Let's do it! I thought of Lucy because she's funny and I try to find humor, but mostly because she's always got some "splainin' " to do.
Lindsay Wagner is a good choice for you. She fits some of the names I've given you. LOL!
I can see your sense of humor in Lucille -- you are just so much more like an original Charlies Angel.... I had just pictured Lucille playing you -- and crying when Charlie asked her to "'splain" herself
I never watched Dynasty but I know Dallas. lol! I will read along for the giggles.
More importantly who would play Dennis?
Dennis has been cast, Johnny Depp-Edward Scissorhands or he may have other ideas, he will choose someone strong and handsome who also embroiders.
Rosey Grier. Wikipedia says-
Grier was well known in the 1970s for his hobbies of needlepoint and macrame, practices not normally associated with "macho" sports figures.
Dennis is either Sir Basil Rathbone or
I lost it, very famous British actor, very young when he played Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights, later knighted, my mind just went totally blank.
Yep, that's it! He was a looker as Heathcliff, and kept his looks into maturity. Incredibly versatile, so I think that would personify Dennis. Also, we could bring him back at about 30, Dennis would like that, hee hee hee.
ttt for comments from others or it will only be a select few of us participating. Come on in and enjoy the fun more of you are needed with your ideas please
Yes Cuties, join in auditions are still open. Who will play you in this epic drama. And it would be a drama!
Dennis must be played by Johnny Depp, he could use his Edward Scissorhands costume.
Toooooo funny, if Mr Dennis reads this he may have an episode of ROLOFLMAO...probably just what he needs. I know this foolishness has perked me up. Thanks one and all.
I never watched the show, but made an educated guess as to Who shot JR and was correct. Husband & I went to a really popular restaurant on the night of this shows airing; it was dismally empty. The bartender was FURIOUS! So I being the brat asked him where everyone was as we hadn't expected to get in for the crowds. He's furiously polishing an already spit shined bar and says 'Home watching Dynasty!!!!!' Okay I'll bite...Why??? He proceeds to tell me the episode and I replied that it that this was silly as I already knew who did it. I didn't/don't know her character name but she is Bing Crosby's granddaughter. He was even more furious when I was proven right. After the show the people came in and were arguing/discussing the outcome. The bartender was an excessively unhappy camper the whole night. I really laughed then, you would have thought these were real people! Needless to say...when ever there is a cliff hanger, that's the nights we go and try the really supper nice, extra crowded place...they are empty. :P
Oops sorry to burst your bubble, maybe I'm the one who isn't real...interesting conundrum? LOL
I don't want to be a character. Let me be a costume or set designer please. I like lurking in the background, coming out on occasion. Kind of like I do here. Sue you are certainly a fun one. I sure would like to meet you one day.
I hope she is agreeable as I'd like to wear her basket, thank you very much! :)
I think she has grown rather fond of it but I bet she has another she would let you borrow for the duration of the series
I'm just reading this post and am so glad to be included! I wanted to be a character too......Oh, did I just hear someone say,I AM a character !
I hope you don't mean Duck Dynasty.we'll all have to grow a beard.
No you have Cameron Diaz doesn't she have longish hair, I would like to be Julie Walters as I have grey hair. Now where is this epic going to be filmed? I have to say I have not seen Dynasty so is that a problem?
Dynasty ran on tv from 1981 -1989. so many may not have seen it or if they did they forgot. lol
Oh thanks Sue Julie Walters will suit me fine and I love your choice of Victoria Wood
Help me think of an intelligent but socially awkward actress. Oh and I would like to be played by someone much thinner. LOL
Thanks Sue for a wonderful idea!
Can I be director, because I never watched it. and I want to join in I am feeling very low at the moment and need cheering up .
Right Next on screen please.
Hugs Pam.
Yes,you can be director,You will have the yell "Cut and put down those scissors" a lot
I thought that may Mr. Dennis would yell this...it sounds just his speed. Maybe he can be your assistant director. What fun.
I dont see why he could not be,he seems a fun person, and I am sure we could do with some muscle. lol may be he will tell us if that is right.
Hugs Pam.
he may also want a flashy fast car for his character and he will need a man cave
At the rate we are cooking up...oops sorry 'Embroidery' this he is sure to have both. LOL
Funny.......Can the sexiest female play me? I like pretending. Ha, ha. I am so glad you found your humor Sue.
But which sexiest female do you want to play you in the Cute Embroidery Drama series? She should be tall and graceful -- right?
I think they will have to cast Julia Roberts as bevintex but who will play Dennis. I'm thinking along the lines of Sean Connery
I think Sean Connery would be a very good fit! However, I think he may have retired. Playing Dennis might be so much fun that could change that. LOL
