It's getting sooooooooo exciting!!!!
I am imagining all the Cuties getting up first thing tomorrow to rush and open their Secret Sister gifts in celebration of CuteEmbroidery's 7th Birthday.

Don't forget many Cuties are several hours ahead of the rest, timewise, so we will need somewhere to post our photo's, ahead of the rest.

WHO do you think will be the first to post, I wonder?
If I was a gambler my money would probably go on Chris Pennifold as she gets up earlier than anyone I know, but then again, many of us stay up far later than others so could still be awake after midnight, which, as I write this is only 9 hours and 10 minutes away.

I guess THIS post could even start a challenge???!!!! :-)
Either way, my excitement is building as I check in every day to see who has received their gift and is waiting, with bated breath, to open it.

This is funny! I have a son in this house who likes to take responsibility for opening parcels :) It's usually not something very exciting -like a bunch of snaphooks or side release buckles etc, LOL. You could let 'your little boy' open it carefully out of your sight, then do it up again for you to be surprised on Tues :) How does he go with the Christmas Tree stuff?

We open our Christmas presents Christmas EVE, because he can't wait one more day, but I'm sure he goes searching beforehand, little realising I usually hide his pressies in amongst the pile of shopping bags and blankets in the boot of my car. hehehehehe!!! He would open the boot lid, take one look and close it again as it LOOKS chock a block! :-)

I'm tempted to ask how old he is, but I won't, LOL. I hide any sweets, chippies etc from the boys in this house or they'd eat them all immediately. The best places are right in front of their noses -or where cleaning equipment lives :)

Thanks for bringing this back to the top. I failed to post here (I thought I had but must have been busy) and I should really help out as I am asking for design ideas myself.
I can always use something in the kitchen -- a pot holder, hand towel, or a centerpiece doily. A personalized bath towel might be nice although that would be harder to ship. A bookmark might be nice and Veronika had some lovely ones to choose from too.
I do hope I am one of that last to send off but just in case others have not yet finished -- now is the time.

Must agree Sarah, lots of time taken up with the thinking, but finally stitched out the design.
Now I am stuck for a project to make out of it, best get a move on or I'll miss the boat won't I? LOL!!!

These items should almost be ready to pack up and post by now! Only just over 3 weeks until opening time...........

My idea would be something for the sewing room. ie,,, thread catcher box (suedewsbury) pincushion/needle holder.. A little wall hanger ... coffee coaster... oh the theme is endless. Let your imagination run wild :))

I prefer a useful thing, for example a dish or hand towel, a little doily, a pincushion, a bag or another thing...I love nature ahd especially flowers. But anything that a Cutie make of all his heart for me will please to me very much

I would love a place mat that i can roll up a knife fork and spoon in so that i can take it on picnics during the summer time.

Hope your traveling is going well!

How about adding a Cute Embroidery design to your favourite ITH purse or similar? At the moment I'm making a plastic bag holder using a design from this site which is looking very nice.

I like most everything from kitchen to personal items. My home is western style, like cowboys, not kokopeli. The only things I don't like are prim designs and blue things for the home as my home is not blue. Hugs. Nan W

I know what I will make for my SS ,as for me I just love surprises, sorry SS ,im not much help lol

Since we are in the midst of a kitchen renovation I have not picked a theme yet but I have picked an accent colour..............cranberry so I think anything with this colour for the kitchen such as a tea towel, or a new apron or anything with this colour in it would be lovely. I look forward to whatever I will receive because it will come from a cutie & we are all wonderful! ~hugs & many thanks Sue for another cutie exchange~

I think a Biscornu would be a great gift as Cute has so many gorgeous designs that would be suitable to use. Or maybe one of those combination pincushion/ thread collector thingies, or a scissors holder, or a tote bag suitable for grocery shopping, or a zippered make-up bag, or spectacle case or a 'purse pack size' tissue holder, or a cushion cover, or a pan pot holder or any of the great suggestions below.

As long as we each stick to ONE gift as Sue has REPEATEDLY requested!!!!
Please don't let this turn into a competition of who can give the most gifts, it only causes embarrassment for the receiver and discourages some Cuties from participating at all as they feel they can't compete.

That goes without saying!

Something useful, where I can see it to remind me of the Cute family and what we are celebrating. My kitchen is pale blue and coffee/ cream.

What about a small wall hanging, a heatproof pad for the pots or cake tins, and like the girls below have also said you can never go wrong with a towel or mugrug or even a placemat.. there are so many things and designs we could make it is going to be hard to choose.. hope this helps.

For personal use, usb stick covers, notebook/cheque book covers, compact mirror case holders, tissue covers.

I, along with Helen also love tea towels, hand towels for the bathroom, table runners, pin cushions especially those Biscornu ones. Hope this is of help to someone.

My home is blue and cream. Kitchen is neutral but I always have colourful tea towels. I love Roosters, Frangipanis and cats and dogs. Love Chris

I love items for my kitchen, potholders, tea towels, aprons etc. These are all easy to make and lets face it, where would we be without them.

A mugmat can be not too costly to send and can go anywhere with its Cutie recipient or stay at home as a reminder of the kindness of a fellow Cutie. It also complies with the request for our exchange to be just one single item :)
