Love your work. These were very popular in Sweden. Islandströja. My husband had one when he was young. It was machineknitted. In the mid -60 or -70. Remember making a jacket of my husbands sweater for our daughter born -79, when she was 2´3 years. Recycling.
I'm a big fan of your knitting expertise Sigrun. I've commented before on your wonderful Icelandic patterns. No wonder you sell them they are heirlooms! Love Chris
Beautiful! Those sweaters are well done. My mother could knit, but I never picked it up. Did a pot holder and said that was enough for me. I admire people who can make such wonderful creations!
These are gorgeous, gorgeous. How wonderful to know the old traditional patterns and be sure to teach them to two or more younger knitters, so it continues. I'm so impressed.
Thank you - there are many young women who are knitting today and others are learning it
Beautiful! Lots of work I remember one I used to have when I was young - it was a lot like the second one but a teal green instead of the black. (My grandmother was Icelandic.)
Beautiful , beautiful, beautiful.. and my O'my the hours you have put into them.. My first sweaters (years and year ago) I knitted each sleeve separate .. Of course they didn't match so I knitted the second set of sleeves as the same time(on circular needles).. I called it my 4 sleeve sweater.. Giggle. I haven't knitted anything but scarves and houseshoies in years.. Thank you for sharing
Thank you - yes very neat knitting both sleeves at the same circle needle, there are many women who do that, but not me
A must have when you have Icelandish horses I have made cardigans with zippers for my daugthers and slipovers with horses on
Das sind 2 wunderschöne Pullover, habe die früher für meine Kinder gestrickt
Oh, Sigrun, you are a knitting master.......how beautiful these are!!
They are absolutely beautiful! Exceptional workmanship! Great job!
Wow so beautiful and so much work has gone into them. I would buy one and I like in a tropical climate.
Excellent job and were you live you will need the warmth of /from them.
They are lovely and look well done hugs Carolyn
Thank you Carolyn, yes sure - but I'm selling them to tourists who visit Iceland..... lol
Oh my, I would love one! However I'd have to stay forever in Iceland in order to wear one; or move to Antarctica! I don't even own a sweater except as an outside jacket, and it is button up. I'm just too warm, I only wear a coat if the wind is blowing in the winter time. :)
