Since it is a "Cowboy theme" why not attach some hemp rope (very fine) to each end of the ribbon and tie it in the back? You have some good solutions and surely one that will suit the Bride's taste. Nice job on the ribbons.
You did a great job on the embroidering!!. Just fold the edges back about 1/4 in & iron them flat & just glue the ribbon to the hat just on the ends. That way if the people want to remove them it would be fine.
that would be a very good idea, but the client has other ideas lol. Welcome to our cute family! we are glad to have you. ~hugs Loralye~
Hi Loralye
You did a fab job, why not try to attach them using clear thread or fishing line. That way the ribbons will attach and not move, and you wont see your stitches from the back. I hope this helps. Hugs Jussy :)
Hi Jussy, I am not really sure what you mean here? However she has come by again & brought 15 more hats.......she would like me to add more white ribbon to each hat & do 5 more men's hats in the white & pink & then 5 white hats done in the black & pink for the dads & grandpas & 5 for the little kids involved (nieces & nephews) but thank you for the compliment I do appreciate both it & the help. ~hugs~
You did a beautiful job! Can't wait to hear the 'solution'.
you did a great job, I suppose adding a piece of ribbon at the backsite of the hat will be the solution..... But the names are embroidered lovely :)
Why not have either white or black ribbon for the back half and where you join the sides and a jewel or tiny flowers or something else to hide the join.
Your work looks good though - at least it was her that got the measurement wrong - lol!
I am happy about that I would have felt so bad if this was my mistake. Thanks Linda ~hugs~
She could attach them to the side of the hat with brads would look great
or could put on with white flowers..
You did a wonderful job on them .they look wonderful.
You are good girl.
.love and hugs Lenamae
Maybe add black ribbon in the back to join it in the back. I'm afraid the elastic might not look right
You did a great job! You could also embroider pink ribbon with white letters & join. Look great so far!!! To bad they didn't measure them correctly
You did a great job on all the ribbons. I agree elastic would work well, but I would probably use a hot glue gun.
One thing is for certain, folks who don't sew don't have a clue what it takes. Maybe she already has an idea of what she wants. Grosgrain in a different color my be an option. Regardless you did a really nice job!!
Let's hope she only meant them to be on the front! If not, be glad she did the cutting! Now, boys & girls...this is why you need to take math in school!! Let us know what she decides to do.
Sure is great that it is now her problem to sort out. You have some good suggestions to give her now. Best of luck. Hugs Shirley
Well dear I bet your glad that it was not you that cut the ribbon. I am sure there is a way to sort this without you having to stitch out again which will cost the client more in the long run. Otherwise lovely work
Your right of course the cost is what it may come down too. Thank you very much Caroline. ~hugs~
Oh, that's sad. I hope you find a solution that looks pretty without having to redo all of that!
And they look so pretty...
And I think I would also just glue them to the hats.
I will leave up to the client to decide what to do. I have given her options so now I have to wait & see what she decides. It certainly is a shame
Oh my, I thought around meant a circle...but maybe she only wants them on the front so that's why she gave you this measurement. She also may have not thought about how they would be affixed to the hat. Good luck!!!!
Great job on them Loralye and if it was me I'd just glue them onto the hat! Love Chris
p.s. By the way, how did you hoop the ribbons?
I did not hoop them I designed a placement rectangle & then side tack down lines that I could easily remove the stitches from when finished then stitched the centers all one by one. thanks Chris
