This is what i need i also did the hook thing and i just hate it really i put the hooks on a wooden shelf i have i would love to make something as pretty as this and able to display it so proudly as you did, is there a pattern for this someplace ? or just something you made up because you are so talented? would love to know thank you so much for sharing your project something you should be very proud of..Hugs...Libby
No pattern - I laid the hoops on the floor to work out the overlap and the overall size. I cut a piece of calico as a backing and added the pockets according to my original layout. The whole thing was then covered with a piece of fabric for the lining, I stitched this down the sides and across the bottom, turned it through and stitched the top over the coat hanger.
Love this idea. I need a safer place for my hoops than the pokey out thing on the side of the 6 needle's stand. Since I will have a new place to sew in just a couple of weeks I should make one for my new home. :)

Thanks for the great idea - I was looking for some kind of storage for my hoops but not able to find anything big enough for my extra long hoop - this will work perfectly.
Great Idea - love the material. No good for me as I only have two hoops. :( LOL
this is a great idea Sue. Probably should be making one myself! My hoops are not stored very well.
Brilliant! The asymmetry doesn't bother me in this case since they are equal~ 2 going left and 2 going right. ;)
Great idea, love the color and matching of. Very, very pretty.
This is awesome, Sue.....I love the way your mind works out all these puzzles in fabric!!
Fabulous! I can see that you put a lot of thought into this. Sometimes you really have to think ahead when you start from scratch. This project is as useful as it is attractive. Well done!
I always spend a lot of time thinking before I actually start to make, but there is often a little snag I hadn't planned for!
this may sound crazy to you, but when I do something to hang, I add some little bb's ( like in bb guns) in the hem and this helps to keep it down and helps with the weigth....
wow , wonderful. I love it. and how lucky you are having so many.
Hugs pam.
I really like this, my tip on the smaller hoops pocket . Measure both sides after you have hoop inside and sew a line there you will have a small pocket on each side for maybe tape measure, etc. I think it might work to help it hang straight.
I was thinking along those lines - a ruler pocket maybe. (I can never find mine!)
That won't work because it overlaps the pocket above it. I've improved it no end by putting a piece of mounting board in the bottom .
How would it work if you started with the empty pocket on top then the smaller hoop etc ?
Too late to change now! I started with the largest at the top to keep the most frequently used ones at the bottom within easy reach.
Good idea Sue and a great way of constantly being reminded of Scottie
I really like it. The large Janome hoop fits very nicely. Great job!
Thanks - strangely, the smaller ones are a bigger problem because they aren't wide enough to fill the pocket.
That's terrific! I love this, the fabric you used, the colors are so pretty. Guess there's now another project on my never ending to do list. LOL
I think the hoop holder turned very nicely. The largest hoop is always the one I have difficulty finding a place for. The 8" hoop is my favorite, so it gets the most use. Maybe, one day I will attempt to make a hoop holder. Thanks for sharing it!
