This is so cute! Are there directions?
Thanks, Christine...I made my own pattern last year, but there is a link to a similar one way down below...and I have since digitized one in the hoop...I like it better!

Thank you all for your kind words..they are so appreciated. You have all inspired me to try again to digitize this to be stitched in the hoop...I looked at this once before and found it to be too big...I am going to revisit my pattern and see if I can get it to fit in the 8x12 hoop...Thanks again to all of you who took the time to make such comments of encouragement and kindness...
Kim, beautiful, always.....what holds the shade to the glass?
No frame....I love it.....evie
Thanks, Evie...the shade just sits over the rim of the glass...very simple
Your work is always beautiful and this is no exception. Sarah
Stunning . well done, an excellent idea, and yours is simply fantastic.
Hugs Pam.
it turned out stunning...
choice of design is just perfect..
A lovely and practical gift! You can be proud of your achievement. Guess quite a few of us will be 'giving it a go'. Thank you dragonflyer.
Did you embroider on fabric and then adhere it to vellum? If so, what did you use to attach it to the vellum? Sorry for all the questions, but I fell in love with the one that you did. So much nicer than all the others I have found.
It is not adhered to vellum...it is fabric that is embroidered, then backed with iron-on interfacing, then flipped right side out.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to answer my question. Your work is so beautiful.
Simply Beautiful!!! Thanx for sharing!!! Hugs, Judy
This is lovely & what a fun thing to do too. I do hope that you are going to share this beauty!~hugs~
Fabulous!!!!!!! Great idea, as you say, for a night light. Also could be for a buffet table, using tall glass or flutes. You did a marvelous job making the shade pattern. Very creative! This embroidery design makes it look very romantic - for a candle-light supper?!?!?!
Thanks..yes, they can be used for all sorts of things at all kinds of events...
What a wonderful idea to use this romantic heart for the lampshade.
Thanks for showing us - Maria
Very pretty. I have made some out of FSL (you do panels and then sew the panels together).
This is all done with one piece of fabric...not panels like the FSL ones are...these are really quick to do..
Wonderful! Where did the pattern come from?
I made my own pattern, but baydreamer has posted a link to a site that has some directions...not what I used, but it looks like it would do the trick...I did mine by just rolling a piece of paper around the top of the wine glass until it fit taped it then cut the depth of the shade to what I wanted...I know very primitive..but it worked...

Nice...if your embroidery design isn't too complex, these sew out quickly...
Would make one for bedside table
