Hey Meri, I live in Archdale, NC just 15 minutes from High Point, NC. Let me know!!!
Bless your heart. It's hard to relocate! I'm sure there are many sewers there! I have a great friend in the Fayetteville area that sews, but none in Raleigh or Charlotte. If you're over in the Knoxville, TN area, let me know! Find a sewing machine or small fabric store & you'll find instant friends there!!
Meri,if you are ever in Texas I would love to meet you but NC is way out of my range. Where are you from originally?

We live in the central part of New York State, where tons of snow fall every winter thanks to the "Lake Effect" off the Great Lakes. It seems with each new winter, both of us find it harder to cope with the frigid temps and tons of snow. My biggest hold back is leaving behind my two grandsons Aydin 8 and Jake 5. I fear it will break my heart to do so. But, we do need to think of ourselves now and how we want to live out the rest of our years. I've never been to Texas but if I ever get the opportunity, I promise to contact you before hand. NC is pretty far from where we are now. It took a day and a half for Maurice to get their and the same coming back. Greyhound is not the ideal way to travel long distances and I don't relish the trip with our cat and dog beside me. As my Mom used to say, if it's meant to be, it'll happen! lol

Wow Meri-definately a long distance haul-I think the last time we went to NC-about 24 yrs ago with an 11 month old-it took us something like 17-18 hours. Needless to say we had to break up the trip with a baby-and I didn't drive back then either so I couldn't help with the driving. We were actually on the Outer Banks though. It sure would be nice to be out of the snow and cold for the long winter months-especially this past winter. My husband retires in November and we are looking at starting the "snowbirds" living, but we will still keep our home up here in Northern NY-it's almost paid for anyway.Good luck with whatever decision you make.
