I bought my husband a white T shirt for his forthcoming cruise and to save it looking like a vest I tried to embroider a motorbike - not good the embroidery was so tight it split the jersey. So I had to make the design separately and glue on. Not certain it will stay but it looks good at the moment.

Very pretty, great save! I would definitely sew around the edges to fix it permanently to the T-shirt.

Great save. I would certainly stitch the patch on rather than having another disappointment if it were to come off in the wash. Sarah

It turned out looking good after your frustrations with it. With the beauty of hindsight it might have been worth putting it on a separate piece of fabric and creating a pocket out of it -if only you knew in advance:) It could have become more dense if the design was reduced in size. Other than that, stabiliser & hooping are also so important with knit fabrics. Lots wouldn't even attempt it, so good on you for giving it a go :) The recipient will love it.

Not reduced and I did everything right. I did the embroidery on a piece of white material not large enough for a pocket which I did consider. Have stitched it on and will see how it goes!!

What a shame it split the jersey, it did this design on canvas and it was fine. It looks good though Gill, bet he's the only one on the cruise with a Tee like that! love Jo

The stitch out looks very good now. I also would recommend posting a note to the digitizer as the design does not look like it should have been so heavy as to rip the material- How frustrating, but you did a very nice save and likely you would be the only one that would even notice the cover up. I also agree with those recommending stitching around the edge of the design just to be sure the glue holds over time and washings. Hope your husbands upcoming cruise is all pure enjoyment for all participating.

What a shame it happened, if you purchased the design or a freebie from a site who sells designs, I would email the digitizer and let them know.
In the future keep some steam a seam on hand for emergencies like this one.
I would due as 02kar suggested and sew around the edge , if you don't have a sewing machine you could just hand stitch in the stitching lines of the design to ensure it stays on.Great Save!

Try slowly and carefully stitching around the outline if you used a fusible glue. I love the design and hope it lasts too
