He did a great job and your sewing basket is beautiful. You are a very lucky Cutie.
Meg, you sound like me.I like the lumber yard/hardware store, second to the fabric shop. I told him wood is like fabric,only its hard.-lol
Meg you give him a hug from me for being so good to you! Lillian
Really cool idea, and it looks great! See, they really CAN do marvellous things when they put their minds to it, it's just getting them there, up away from the football or whatever. Good on Ray, now you can put the basket on your lap, and the scissors or whatever else on the table part! Congrats to you both, it's lovely and useful, too! Hugs, Marji
Very clever. Looks great too. He deserves a big hug for that one.
Very nice idea. You could even rest your cup of tea there also. Love your basket also. Lyn
Clever boy. ;) Heading home from brassy in this horrid wind. Slow trip with the van.
Atta girl keep him busy with all your inventive thoughts, I had hubby build me a thread winder similar to yours to rewind my threads and I love it So keep the good ideas coming...Marian
That is so clever Ray!! I saw the sewing basket last Friday when I went down with my Mum to visit Meg and Ray and what he has done with it is nothing short of brilliant. I wasn't expecting anything like that Meg, it's so "usable" now and can be kept close-by. Well done, love Chris
Looks like you are a great team with your creative skills.
Perfect! They can be sooo useful -once you get them started up! When I did have a husband, my method was to start something I needed done so he'd take over, assuming he'd do a better job of it :)
Looks fantastic. Ray sounds a little like my DH, who is also very good at woodwork. Just needs a nudge every now and then!!!
Yes, Sarah a nudge helps, especially since he retired, he's slipping into some bad habits that will not do his health any good. :-(
Beautiful sewing basket, your hubby gets a gold star for completing your project. It really does look very nice. :-}
Yes he sure does Leaha.
I need to keep him busy now he has retired or he will shrivel up and ......
He wouldn't dare do that! Haven't you heard the definition of retirement? "Twice as much husband; half as much money." :-}
Isn't he a clever fellow.....that he listened to you. ;)
Awesome Meg and Ray. You sound like me. I have allsorts of Idea's in my head, just don't have the space or tools to make them.
Beautiful basket too...
Hugs
Thanks Jerri. I bought the it on Ebay last year, I had wanted a proper sewing basket all my life. :-)
Cleaver guy..... I have one too and they are so gifted ... Nice job! Suzanne
But do you find he is a mixed blessing like my DH?
They are so talented they can make anything you ask for,
but on the other hand,
if something needs doing around the house they HAVE to be the one to do it and it takes forever to get finished so you end up living in clutter for years instead of months.
Gotta luv 'em! :-)
Just be glad (proud) you have someone with skills in your home. It ain't happenin' here! Unless I hire it done. He did a stupendous job. You need to cook him his favorite supper or reward him in some way so the love continues!
Yeah Grace, previous husbands weren't so gifted and I used to have to do everything myself. :-)
But don't worry, Ray is my 'keeper' so he gets his favourite meals every night.
His first wife couldn't cook without burning everything, so he did all the cooking AND all the housework after putting in a full day at work so I think he considers himself totally spoiled rotten now. He'd better, eh? :-)
