Wow what lovely work and a great quilt coming up to I see...Will love to see it completed...Well done to you...
Here's a link to Attic Windows and how to make it.
I hope this link works.
They are just beautiful. I would put them together with one of the matching plain colours from the embroidery that suits your house. Outside maybe a forest type fabric together with the small binding strip matching to finish.
Will be interesting to see your choice in the end.
Lovely, unbelievable project. I don't quilt but wish you luck and fun finishing your project. I have to add that I like shilly's idea of the forest, it could be done in shades of greens and brown and match everything you have here. Beautiful job. :-}
Do all fifty have to be on the quilt, or could some be part of a soft headboard or pillow covers?
Hi Icana, I agree with Pennyhal - Shadow box quilting would look fabulous and make each block stand out - or pop out as we say.
I've got a couple of pictures off the internet to show you what I mean. Good luck with it all as it is simply stunning. Love Chris

They are beautiful birds. You'll have to show your quilt when it's done, that is going to be a knockout!
I have been looking at that package and admiring, but have not purchased yet. I think your birds turned out great. Since they don't come out to an even number of blocks for a layout, why not throw in some tone on tone non-embroidered blocks (checkerboard style) so that the math works out, and then increase the size for your bed by adding borders. No matter what you do, it is going to be beautiful!
Thanks, I got them a few at a time when the had the dollar sale. Would have been better if I'd bought the pack at 50% off.
Beautiful and I am very distracted today so not much help.
Beautiful! I was thinking of doing something like this to back a hand embroidered quilt. Please post the finished project.
Never did this, but how about making them look like they are in a forest, i.e. a meandering stitch for branches with a few large leaves hanging from the top row only.
very nice maybe look at darker colour so you do not lost the beauty of each and everyone of this beautifull designs just love it
This is a fabulous quilt! I can't imagine how many hours it took you do finish all of those birds. I can't recall the exact name of the block that I'm thinking of, but you sew a light fabric on one side and a darker one on the bottom, and miter the corner where they match. It gives a 3D framed look. I'd use some shades of green since there is green in almost all blocks.
Beautiful! As for the quilting I think choose a complimentary fabric for sashing a skinny one & then your framed border fabric & binding to match. Stipple or better yet echo quilt each bird to showcase them would be lovely! Best of luck & I too look forward to your finished endeavor! ~hugs~
They stitched out beautifully! Can't help with the details of the quilting but it does look like you'll need to pick one embroidery to be a throw pillow. I would keep the quilting and the fabrics plain - wouldn't want detail busy work to detract from the beauty of the embroidery. Simple bands all around in a deep color would be stunning.
So very pretty but I am afraid that I know nothing about quilting. You will soon get help from the quilting Cuties. Sarah
that is so pretty!! My mind is clueless as to how to lay it out. Don't know if it would help at all, but Thomas sewing has some free quilt patterns that I just found a couple days ago. thomassewing.com. Maybe there would be some inspiration? These are so gorgeous and a lot of work. The birds need something special :) Good Luck! Hope you post a pic when its finished!! **FLOWERS**
Wow, what a monumental undertaking and they turned out beautifully... I can't help with the quilting part as I don't quilt, but your project is amazing!!
