Glad hubby is ok and nice design from his old pants .hugs
Thank you. Now it is back to my own stash - and there's plenty of it. I think I'd have to work day and night to clear half of it before my 80th birthday... which gives me some time.
So sorry to hear about your DH - hope he is healing well. This is a lovely upcycle. I love to recycle & like you I think it is a challenge & I am a bag lady so this is a perfect design for one too! ~hugs~
Thank you. I made the design specially for the bag, but I think it would be nice ona cushion cover too, I'll try that next.
Thank goodness he didn't break anything. Glad you took such TLC of him and he is healing. As always a beautiful job . The bamboo looks great and you know I love to recycle. Great job Martine/Lillian
Thanks, Lilian. I do love recycling too, comes with our age I think, make do and mend was the order of the day. Now it has become a sporting challenge not to throw things away but use them. Problem with hubby is his wounds don't heal fast or without infections, especially on his legs, but it is almost clear now.
Hugs, Martine
So sorry to hear about your DH - hope he is healing well. Love what you have done. Sewing on denim is a joy. Very pretty Martine.
Great way to recycle your husband's trousers. Sorry to hear about his fall-gald to hear that it is healing nicely.
Nice saving with a beautiful design! Hope your husband is doing well now. Love, Yoriko
Lovely design and I am glad he has you to take care of him! Nice work on saving the fabric and putting it to good use!
Your design is very pretty! I like to repurpose things myself and have embroidered scraps from cut off pants too, very good way to do the test stichouts!
Thank you. I have used the best parts of old jeans for pencil cases, book covers, and so on after they had served him in the garden. So usually only parts of the back of the legs were usuable. These were the largest pieces ever.
Great thinking and I love your designs. Hope hubby's knee is ok now.
T he men are so precious,,,wont carry a bag with flowers.etc. on it but i will give you my address i would be proud to carry it....soozie
looks great, and nice and strong. You lovely flowers are beautiful.
You have done a lovely job creating this design. I love it. So elegant. Pity your hubby won't use the bag. Shirley
Aw, he's GOT to carry it so that he will be coordinated. ;)
It looks wonderful and I'd sure carry it!
Perfect save, design worked well on these. He wanted cut offs so falling was his excuse to have you create some. :)
It just shows that it is good that trousers don't heal like skin!
Very lovely bag. Hope your husband mends fast and does not contribute to your fabric stash this way again.
That is not how we like to get our fabric, but I think it is a great save. Maybe if there is a next time, you can embroider a manly type of design for his bag of bandages.
Beautiful save. Now - second leg -second bag or just straps for this bag? Glad to hear Hubby is mending.
I used the second leg for the back of the bag, so it is fairly large, large enough for some serious shopping. You can see both seams, the outside and inside leg seams. I cut each leg through the middle of the front as the backside always looks less worn. So I need some webbing or other sturdy stuff for the handles.
Well, Martine.......tell your hubby he has no class...LOL!! This is truly one classy bag! Tell him he can use this to carry his first aid stuff in!
Glad he is healing up and this is beautiful work!
Thanks. Actually it's me always carrying first-aid stuff. We met working at the same laboratory and at least twice a week he came with some cut or nick that needed attention. Took me a while to realise he was extra careless for a reason. Nowadays it happens less often; fortunately, he would be a bunch of scars if he still tried to get my attention that way LOL
ah what a sweetheart I love hearing how we met stories & this is just as nice! ~hugs~
Good save, So, your pretty little design came in quite handy. Sorry to hear about the fall. Hope he continues to mend.
My gardening jeans have a nasty tear at each knee, but there's not enough quality left in the fabric to stitch upon!
Thank you. Well, his was fairly new, so it was worth saving both the top part and the off-cuts.
