How sweet and cuddly your quilt is....Very nice I love the look...
Thanx for all the wonderful comments, I just wanted youns to know, I made the Momma cry cause I told her that the material was purchased by my DH just a short while before his going to Heaven, and he told me I could use it on the next baby girl blanket. Well this is it! He went to Heaven just a little over a year ago, and all I have been making is boy blankets, until Cathy found out she's having a girl!!! This family is like our own family, and they all loved my DH, and I signed the card Judy & R.L...Thanx for reading!!! Hugs, Judy
Beautiful and very different. I can see a number of ladies will be following suit. Patricia
Love the colours, you have made a wonderful blanket.
Hugs, Lidia
You have really made this so Awesome!!!!It is Stunning...Well done
Is this a single layer of fleece blocks sewn together? I have always used flannel for my rag quilts, using 2 layers for the blocks and then a 3rd layer for the backing which makes it quite "raggy". I would be interested in trying this too if I knew how you did it.
What kind of stabilizer? Is there stabilizer and/or stitching showing on the back side?
Thanx for response!!! Yes there is stitching & stabilizer showing on the back, I do not like that but didn't have enough fabric to make double, and it would be soooo warm. That is one reason I did every other block embroidered. Also, I feel if every block is sewn, it makes it too full without borders in between. I used real soft stabilizer on back, cut away, and none on top. I also told Mama to be, that until it is washed a few times, please not to put baby's skin directly on embroidery. I hope you have fun doing yours. Hugs, Judy
Thank you answering my questions. I must add this to my projects-to-do list. I'm thinking that a backing of light weight flannel would cover the stitching and stabilizer without adding too much weight.
Good idea to have the flannel backing to complement this delightful blanket.
Beautiful job! Looks like snowbird scriptures digitized by Snowbird but do not know if she has ever posted anything on DBC. Somewhere in projects there is a queen sized scripture quilt I did several yrs. ago./Lillian
Just Beautiful!!! You did a fantastic quilt!!! I'll bet they cherish it! I would! Hugs, Judy
Love the flannel colors, but yep, it sounds like it would be difficult to sew squares that are already clipped. I am with you, do it after! Its beautiful, tho. Well worth the aggravation of the pre-clips! ***FLOWERS to all***
Beautiful job on this quilt, Judy! I digitized these scripture verses for another Cutie...Momhome...and the frame was was digitized by our very own Basketkase who allowed me to use it when I digitized the verses...I thought the crosses in the frame was a perfect fit for these verses...nice to see them used again!
Thanx so much for digitizing these and using Vicki's border. I thought the border looked like one of hers!!! I love the crosses on it and the verses themselves so much!!! Thanx again for making me look so good! Hugs, Judy...
Sorry to hear the you cut yourself, but this is a wonderful gift.
Nancy
I have listed 3 cuties: Basketkase, MOPS and Dragonflyer. But I also had a 4th (I was never good in Math) and that is MomMom. I'm so glad I had downloaded these at the time. What is also so special about the blocks is that the borders they included around each proverb are crosses. Thank you cuties for such a special quilt. And Gramsbear you did a beautiful job on this one. God bless.
Thanx so very much for the info on Digitizer, will keep hoping the REAL digitizer will stand up!!! Thanx to whoever she is! Hugs, Judy
