Jerrilyn, after your post on machine x stitch, I decided to give it a go. I had done the odd machine x stitch before but it was also the first time I have tried a border. Six times hooping on waffle weave was a bit beyond me so therefore it is not quite accurate. Masses of tiny jump stitches but I am quite pleased with the result, except for the 'lollipop' looking roses!!! Thank you for your post - it got me to try something different.

Well done Sarah! I hardly ever follow the machine colours, I find if I have a pic I can choose better but this looks great as is.. Marian

I love the look Sarah-now I might have to rethink my opinion on machine cross stitching-maybe the ones that I did testers of were just not very good designs. I do like these..

O.K. Sarah, fess up! How did you get the corner designs done so well? They are so close to the edge!!! Do you attach another piece of fabric and sew it to the edges so that you have enough to put in the hoop? Anyway, it looks great. Love Chris

You are not supposed to look at the corners as that is where the last one on the right would not fit in!!! Chris, I have to admit that I never hoop anything except the stabilizer. I just use spray adhesive and pin it down as an extra precaution.

Thank you all for your comments. I am sure that it is a cherry and that the flowers are probably blossoms. In which case the blossoms should be a pale pink/ white. Unusual for me but I just followed the colour chart. Flowers for all.

I think it looks nice Sarah. the design did not have enough color shading in the roses, that's why you are not happy with them/ But I think it looks great/Lillian

That is exactly the reason why it looks so strange

Well done! You would have to tell someone it was not perfect for them to know -- so just don't tell. ;)

I think it looks great. The colors make the towel pretty and cheerful whether it is roses, cherries or berries.

Very pretty.
I love to watch it stitch out it is a quick drawing which I find relaxing at times. Hand Cross Stitch same except it takes more time but in right mood it relaxes as well because I am seeing it become a pretty design. My eyes and hands don't like to get along with hand work as I would like so machine is a cheat has the jumps but I also can flub with my dear hands.

Oh, you are going to make me try this!!!!! I love your towel.
It's perfect enough for government work. :0
Actually, I don't see anything wrong with it. That was what we used to say in another life and another job I had.

Very pretty border! Yes - the flowers do look a bit like cherry blossoms, perhaps that's it.

It looks very pretty. Are you sure it was a rose, it looks more like a berry, with nice shading.
Jumps are what I dislike about cross stitch, there's no way you can make connection stitches, although I have cheated when digitising by making half-crosses in one colour and the top half in a second, which gave a shaded effect.

Thank you for your comment Martine - never thought that it could be a berry or a cherry.

It is beautiful and only you know it is not hoop perfect. It looks straight to me. I thought it was Cherries... not roses. Pretty either way. Now I am going to have to try some cross-stitch... this is catching.

Could easily be a cherry - as there were other little flowers, I automatically thought it was a rose.

I think it looks like cherries too.
