I had another go this morning. I think it looks not bad at all.
I don't know of any.
Problem in making them as I can see it, is that you don't want the split bang in the middle, as that's where the heart of the flower is. Splitting a bit lower gives an odd view of the lower petals. See picture. Reversed it looks a bit better, but not much.
Interesting visual, I can't say as it really works with a flower, unless a tulip or something that has no center showing...
Interesting, unlike you I like the lower one best and will work with that for a while.
Side view of a tulip, or other flower, might work well, but that would need a bit of stem - not suitable for 4x4 I think. The split takes up a comparatively large amount of space in a 4x4 design.
I've got a couple of ideas to work on. It's when I first think things won't work that gets me going :)
Glad the creativity is ' flowering'...sorry couldn't resist. I like the latest version (purple) because the overlapping petals carry the idea through better in my mind.
