I use a Babylock machine & I prefer this thread over all others. You are fortunate to find it on sale!
I've used their embroidery thread without any problems and I like their color selection.
I have used it some. But seems I'm the only that thinks it really creates a lot of lint. I have to clean out the machine more often when using it. Have only used the cotton or blend...not for embroidery.
I have a few treasured reels of Gutermann (100% viscose) from a shop that was closing. My Bernina and I love it.
Thank you for all of your answers to my question! I appreciate it, now I know that this thread is better for sewing/quilting than embroidering! I was just looking for some thread that I can buy individually since I am low on a couple of colors. I will have to see if the local stores have embroidery thread or if I need to search online.
I like Gutermann thread and like everyone else use it only for sewing. I use Madiera for embroidery.
That is my favorite thread for sewing as it has long fibers and holds up so well.
My Berninas love it. One of the best threads that you can buy, in my opinion.
Yes, my Viking likes it for sewing. It is what my dealer suggested I use.
I love it for sewing and quilting. I have the embroidery thread with the matt finish, it stitches out very well and is great for heirloom designs, but I do not have the usual shiny ones made by them. I use Madeira, Marathon and Brildor instead..
I use it for my sewing projects. I love it!
However, I don't use it for embroidery except for some redwork or ITH designs.
I use Gutermann for sewing/quilting. I have a little bit for embroidery and my machine likes them just fine but prefer the Metro Emb threads (cheaper and very shiny and hold up well).
