Yes, I did it. Never before I embroiderd on a towel. Now I did it the first time and I like it.

This will be a gift for Margot, a friend tomorrow, hope, she will like it.
But first I had to try one for me.
The desingns are from Cute Embroidery and stitches out great.

Only the first towel is intimidating..... Glad you made it past that one and congratulations on selecting a perfect font to try your new project. I've used this one many times and it's always perfect.

I must have missed this the first time. Your towels are beautiful. Such a lovely alphabet! It took some searching and I'm glad I found it! Here's the link for others who might like it.

well, of course you needed to try this out first! That shows you are a careful embroiderer and a good friend. You wouldn't want to give her something you wouldn't be happy with would you? They both look great! (My sister has a similar scheme when buying Christmas presents - one for X and one for me, one for X and one for me ....)

Yes, you are right, if I try new things, I make the first for me.
If there happens a mistake, I will get it, not the friend.
A german proverb says:
The first make for your enemy, the second for your friend and the third for you.
Every attempt will be better then the last.
Thanks for looking

Really pretty! I haven't tried basting the towel onto stabilizer. I always have a wrestling match getting the towel in the hoop :) I think that I will try basting next time. Your friend will be delighted, great work of love!

Thank you Nancy, my machine makes a bastingstitch if I need this, but did not know what to do with this before I learned that hooping of towels is difficult.

My biggest problem was, that I did not know, how to hoop it, but now I only stiched the towel with bastingstitches on the stabilizer and it works.
Thank you

airyfairy by airyfairy 27 Jul 2014

Hooping towels or anything thick can break your hoop. Much better to baste or stick.
