Had my grand for the night, so we sewed up these shorts for her, she picked the material she wanted. (kid loves blue) helped iron, pin and sew them. She is 3 years old and did a great job. we also made her a little drawstring bag. It is so great to be teaching her so young how to sew, she wanted to know were was the tag on the back, told her since we are making them we didn't have one. Only the big manufactures put them on LOL

Real sweet pants. and a sweeter story .. I love that you are able to start teaching her at such a young age.. Maybe you better get some ribbon and make her a personal tag love that she thought of that.

I made clothes for my kids all during their growing up years. They were bothered by no tags too. So I just folded over a piece of satin ribbon and stitched it in the seam. It also helped them know front from back. Cute clothes and adorable granddaughter you have there!

I always put a tag on the back of shorts helps the little ones dress themselves. If you don't have size tags use tape. Lovely job on the shorts.

Between the two of you you made an appealing garment. It is wonderful that you are instilling a love of sewing in your grand-daughter, particularly from such an early age. Nowadays, it seems that young girls (teenagers and beyond) do not even know how to sew on a button - never mind put up a hem. Patricia

Both are cuties...I must say your assistant did a right professional job on her short. You could make your own tag/embroidery...'Made by Gram & ; with the date and she will be a happy camper! It doesn't have to be fancy. Who knows this may trigger her to be a fashion designer! :-))

Cute and smart ! Great combination. Yes Grandmother, you can put labels on.Look at these, they were not expensive, at homesew.com. I have to use them, especially when I sew for Avery to keep up with what size I sewed her last. I also have the month sizes. Give gd a big hug and tell her to keep up the good hobby.

The shorts and the Grand are both absolutely adorable!! I have a feeling you are going to be buying her an embroidery machine in the not-so-distant future :)

she has helped with ITH items before, mainly stuffing them and watching them stitch, this was the first I let her iron, pin and sew. She really enjoyed it. I have a few embroidery machines so she will have access to them all the time LOL thanks
