Love your runner, Patricia, well done! Lots of work, aligning and embroidering all the designs.... that's impressive.
I have googled Lodia Da Silva, as I have never heard her name before, and found her designs in Secrets of Embroidery. Thank you for showing us your runner.
Hugs, Lidia
Hi Lidia, thank you for your kind words. Yes, you are on the right track. Lodia's own site is 'Into embroidery' and she trades with Secretsof.com. I have since also seen that Advanced Embroidery has hardanger designs that are well-worth viewing. Advanced Embroidery has a special discount at present on purchases until Sunday.
Let me know how you get along please. Greetings, Patricia

I have been looking for hardanger designs. Would you mind sharing where you got them. Your work is beautiful!
The designs I used are those of Lodia Da Silva (from South Africa). Her designs can be found at Secretsof.com and her particular site there, is 'Into Embroidery'. I have since noted that Advanced Embroidery also has hardangar designs which are worth looking at. Thank you for your comment and please keep me posted. Patricia
PPS: Advanced Embroidery has a special discount until this Sunday. Patricia
This is quite beautiful, will have to put this on my to do list. :-)
Thank you and yes, put it 'high-up' on the list Leaha; you won't be disappointed.
oh i love this kind of playing it looks Awesome :):)A+ hugs
WOW WOW WOW!!! Pat, this is absolutely FABULOUS! Especially as it's your first attempt.
My Mother in law has done this style of embroidery by hand for years and now at 88 is no longer doing. She would be so impressed by your machine embroidery attempt at it. I think you've done a brilliant job and I hope one day to try it too. Love and blessings Chris, Newcastle, Australia.
Thank you Chris I appreciate your kind words., I too have a hand-made hardanger runner. I will endeavour to get a better photo so that you can show your Mother-in-law. Do give it a try; it has many possibilities and a good presentation. Love, Patricia.
It looks nice and I like how you placed your designs.
Thank you, I enjoyed making the runner. I have always admired the hand-made hardanger cloths.
awesome work,, what kind of stabelizer did you use?
I appreciate your response, thank you. A double layer of Avalon+ (the Vilene - material type) is hooped, together with the material, for each design. And no additional stabilizer is used. Will you be trying it? Patricia.
got very long waiting list, but hardanger is listed, thank you for your reply 8-)
This is absolutely beautiful! I think this is something I need to try! Sooo, sooo nice! What kind of machine do u have?
Thank you and I am pleased that already there is one lady that I have inspired to try the hardangar technique. I have a Bernina, Deco 340. My largest hoop is 5x7 (this was used for 5 of the designs) and the 4x4 for the other six. Eleven individual hoopings. Please keep me posted. Greetings. Patricia
Patricia this really a work of art, I can hardly believe, thats your first.
Hugs Baerbel
