It is hard for me to believe it is so cold there when it is so hot here. We have been in the 90s Fahrenheit here with it getting to 97 Fahrenheit here tomorrow I don't know how that converts to Celsius. It just fascinates me that the climate can be so different in so many different places on the earth. I guess I should have studied weather in college. Please keep warm and we will try to stay under the air conditioner and keep cool. Hugs V
Yes it is hard to believe it can be hot in one part of the world and so cold in another. I don't like it too hot though. I would rather be in the cooler climate. Shirley
Gee Shirley, we're cold up here in Sydney just can't seem to warm the old bones.. sorry but as much as I love your state I'm glad we're not that far south. Hope your electrics comeback and stay on for you at least winter is nearly over.. Hubby looks like he's enjoying the candlelight dinners with you..
When we got the power restored we saw on the evening news people were swimming at the beach up your part of Aussie. We found that hard to believe after the week we had down here. Oh yes candle light dinners. so romantic. It made me think of the TV program with Mrs Bucket.
Wow! Shirley, what a stunning panorama of Mt.Roland - it reminded me of one time going into Canberra and I saw snow on the Mundoonan Range.
No wonder you are so cold down there, the temperatures have been so low!!!! We've been watching the weather every night and I commented to Trev how cold it's been down in Tassie. Hope you are now all "electricfied" so to speak. Do you have a fireplace in your home? We live in an all electric home - so if there is a a cut in the power we are without for a while. When we lived in Victoria the Electricity Commission used to go on strike very frequently, so we had power strikes all the time. Love Chris
That is the most snow we have seen on Mt Roland in the 8 years we have been living here. I am originally from the far North West Coast and some times the cloud covers the top of Mt Roland and I say to Ralph 'Oh I can see the Stanley nut this morning.'
Candlelight dinner with the man you love!
When power outages happen, and there are no distractions from the TV and you can sit together in relative silence each person quietly enjoy each others company while each doing their own hobbies without all the other noise and distractions of the modern world, it can be total bliss*!
(as long as there is already food and some form of heat so it is not a dangerous situation, just a bit inconvenient) Sounds like you have made the situation a special memory.
Sorry to hear that your winter is so bad and that you have having to make do not having any electricity. Look after yourselves and keep warm. Sarah
We are lucky to be able to have 2 fires going when it is really cold. We live in a really old farm house. Most of the time it is nice and cosy. The views are really nice here as well. Shirley
Hubby looks like he is making the best of it for sure, as long as we feed them they are happy LOL Glad your both ok and what luck to have the camper fixed before hand. Your view is spectacular!!!!!!!
Yes hubby was making the best of it, though he was the one who was dodging the rain quite a few times to get water from the tank up the back yard as well as wood for the fire. Sure did was glad to have the camper back in time. Great now to be able to just flick a switch to get light instead of having to light the candles.
Wow! Beautiful and so green! Glad all is well.
Yes nice and green, but a bit soggy. WE had the camper parked close to the front of the house and when hubby went to move it after we had the power restored it got bogged and he had to get the farmers helper to tow him out with the tractor. But all is well now. We are eating well as a lot of food in the freezer was thawed and needed to be cooked up.
looks awesome even hubby lol hugs
I'm not too sure about the meal. He took me out to dinner the next night LOL. Shirley
Astonishing view.
Yes it is the most snow we have seen on the mountain since we have been here. Shirley
You have been having quite the adventure with weather and an interesting reason for repairs. But I would say that view makes up for it all. I'm glad you are safe.
A romantic candlelight dinner, sweet! Just makes one appreciate the modern conveniences and wonder how we ever managed without them.
Love the view! :-)
My husband and i have just returned from Tasmania last tuesday evening reaching Melbourne 6.30am next morning . We had perfect weather in Hobart for 8 days. Cold ,but is expected during this time of year and did not stop us enjoying our selves with plenty there to do. The crossing was very rough with a 5 metre swell, but all was well no sea sickness. You live in a beaitiful part of the world, even though you are inconvienenced sometimes , on returning home to Albury N.S.W.it is cold and showery here too. A great time now to be inside catching up on embroidery gifts for christmas, and all the news from cuties .
So very glad you had a wonderful time. I just love seeing the other parts of the world through the eyes of it's people. Thank you for sharing. :-)
Nice to hear you had lovely weather in Hobart. We were down there for the Craft Show the week before and it was beautiful. You left Tassie just before all the bad weather. it was state wide. Shirley
