I saw this when my grandson was in the hospital, but didn't take time to comment. Now I will. It is a beautiful work of art and heart! I appreciate all the time this took you to make, I hope the reciever does too, if it's not for you. Just lovely-Toogie
OOh, OOh , OOH! I do love it. Fantabulous job!!. congratulations
Great job! Love the colours you have chosen.
Hugs, Lidia
This was my 1st ITH project. I was very intimidated to start, but thought what the heck, if I mess up then I mess up, Oh Well...then... Once I started, after I made a couple and got the hang of it, I realized it was SO easy and SO VERY much fun making. You girls that said you have this set, should really get it out and try one square. I think you will be hooked. This is a set that can be done so many different ways. The first several colors are placement and tack down/sew down stitches for the strips. I used the same thread color, so I wasn't changing thread every 2 seconds. All of the stitching for the fabric strips is going to be hidden underneath, so use up a spool of thread that you don't really like the color. Hope this helps you get brave and try. Thank you for all the lovely compliments!!! Flowers and Hugs!
Lovely...a lot of hard work ...but seems worth it
A WORK OF ART AND AN HEIRLOOM! Excellent job, love Chris
Beautiful quilt and designs, you can be very pleased with; I know I would be. :-)
I love to get the "pre-planned" quilt layouts. I find I loose interest if I have to do all of calculations. This quilt is stunning and my philosophy is anywhere near the ditch works for me. You can't tell from the backside anyway. LOL
The backside does have an interesting pattern with all the different sized squares. I used cream color muslin, and cream color thread. thank you!
Lovely work. I have this design too but haven't stitched it up yet. Definately a labor of love
OK, you two! Read the new posting I added at the top. Seriously, if I can do this ANYBODY can do this!!! lol.
What is the best word.. Beautiful, Awesome, Gorgeous. Take your pick it is all of those and more.. You have to be sooooooooo happy with it.
Thank You, and I pick all those words!! lol. That's how I feel about this quilt. My favorite quilt I have ever made!!
Well worth all of the time and thread. Kudos to you for a beautiful job.
Beautiful quilt, it is really worth the much work you have done. How many blocks have you embroidered for his quilt?
I have no idea how many squares, next time I get it out, I will try counting. I don't think there are as many as it looks like there is, because of the strips of fabric around the squares.
What a beautiful quit. I love the collections of embroidery designs.
You have done an awesome job.
OH my, what a talented quilter you are.....this is stunning!!! I so envy all of you quilters out there....your fabrics are beautiful, too!
Thanks, Vicki! This quilt is almost all done for you. Don't have to be a quilter. These squares would be so pretty done with the Melancholy Babies in the centers... wish I would have thought of that as I was making them.
yikes, I should have mentioned when I added my own squares to some of the blocks, they are out of my library of purchased/collected designs from over the years! I can't digitize a straight line! LOLOL.
omgosh I can't sew a straight line either! If you could see close up on the quilt, my "stitch in the ditch" is actually "stitch close to the ditch"
