This sometimes happens and they may try a lot of different things before her tummy will accept something. Saw a lot of this when I worked at the Pediatric Clinic yrs and yrs ago. My own child who is 52 now had the problem back then they did not have all the different formulas they have now. They tried all they had along with goats milk even beef broth. They finally had to give her a med that I put in water and had to give to her 30 mins before her feedings, don't know what it was, I wasn't a nurse back then but it worked.
Received wonderful news tonight. Emma Baylee has improved and is now taking 30 to 35 CC by bottle and is out from under the lights for jaundice. Continued improvement and she may go home by the end of the week. Thank you all for your prayers.
It sounds better and better, especially that might go home soon part. God answers pray, in his timing.
I read your update on little Emma's progression. I hope she keeps taking the formula & puts on some weight. Bless her little soul. Sending up prayers for this little bundle of love.
Update on Emma. She is taking a little more formula from the bottle and keeping it down. They have an NG tube into her stomach and feed her 30 CC every other feeding. On the other feedings,
they try to get her to take as much as possible from the bottle and then they give her the rest of the 30 CC through the tube. So far she is keeping it down. Thank you for your prayers. My niece, Emma's mother, Francis asked that I please let you know how much the prayers have meant to her and her husband, Brad. They know that the Lord's hand is on little Emma. Hugs, Maxine
Thanks for the update. This sounds better! I hope the arents continue to feel the support of the prayers.
Thank you Maxine for the update. My thoughts are with you all, especially little Emma.
Maxine when our youngest grandson was born he could not keep the milk down either & threw up quite a bit. He too was transported to our closet Sick Kids Hospital where they discovered he has Galactosemia they fixed him up after a couple of weeks he was able to come home. They put him on powdered soy formula & he was able to digest this. He is a tiny boy but doing remarkable well he will be 4 in Sept. I will add Emma to my prayers. ~hugs~
yup this was another thing they tried my daughter on but she couldn't keep it down either. I do know it stained terribly when it came back up and I couldn't even bleach the brown looking stain and get it out. Hope it's better these days
