This is a peacock design in stringart. I used two colours of yarn, silver and pink to give the shimmering look. Its real fun to make and i wanted to share this with all the wonderful cuties here. Thanks for looking.

I think I will try doing this on cardstock - the method is slightly different but they have a good tut. This might be fun with varigaterd thread/yarn for kids. I'll have to be sure I can do it first!

Yes, its a good idea....because you just have to poke holes instead of nails. Go to pinterest...plenty of ideas and tutorials.

There was a shop teacher at our school, a long time back, that made ships like this stringart. The body of the ships were wooden and the sails were the strings.

It looks difficult but the string work actually is very fast and easy. Its the nailing on the wood which is time consuming and tedious. Thanks.
